The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) has introduced a secret exhibition titled Art Work: Artists Working at the Met, showcasing the artistic talents of its staff members. Narrative and object-rich and open to the public until 1 December, the exhibition showcases the talents of some 600 employees, hailing from myriad departments including security guard, mason worker, conservators and librarian. This time around, however, the museum’s employees are being recognized not only for their jobs keeping the institution moving and grooving but also for their artistic contributions. National Museum of Ireland Curator Noel Campbell has shared new images of artefacts that could be featured on the upcoming gallery’s digital screens. It may looks like an art museum but through the eyes of Hong Kong-based #OasisManagement the Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art, which houses one of the most impressive collections of 20th Century Western art in Japan and one of only four #RothkoRooms in the world (along with Contemporary Japanese art), is little more than an underperforming capital asset that needs to be sold off and downsized or shut down. As part of this move the museum's entire collection has been listed with a book value thatis far below the amount the museum sold a single work by Barnett Newman in 2013 ...
