The team loved having you on Whitney Johnson Cowell! I started the idea of bringing an "Internal Guest Speaker" on at the beginning of the year to kick off our Monday meetings with the objectives: To spice up our Monday meetings: Increase Product knowledge and learn how each department operates Increase confidence in working internally across departments/offices Most importantly, the ability to internally network. I always think about increasing production by increasing efficiency. One of the best ways to increase efficiency is getting your team internally networked and engaged with the rest of the company. The guests we have had on include; Sales reps that have found success, the President of KCH, the head of our Air import/export team, and a colleague in our solutions departments. One of the things that I love most about KCH Transportation has been brought to light within this idea -> The willingness and the support of colleagues from different departments/offices wanting to collaborate. #creative #efficiency #leadership #management
Kicking off the week with our Tampa team 👏🏼🌴 Managers like Tucker Landreth are my favorite - each Monday he’s brining in people from other branches and other departments to share their stories, give department updates and just talk with the sales team. Today I was lucky enough to join them! « Open communication » « Reaffirmed camaraderie » « Better results » To all the reps out in the sunshine state, THANK YOU for bringing some sparkle to my morning. Let’s win the week, yeah?

At the Marshall & Sterling annual Sales Executive Conference in Schenectady, New York, we gained insight from keynote speaker Victor Antonio on best sales practices and learned his tips on how to stay motivated for success. Sales Executives were also recognized for their accomplishments throughout this past year. I’m feeling thankful to be included with the other Sales Excellence Award winners pictured below! #FinancialPlanning #WealthManagement #RiskManagement

Spiffs are about immediacy and impact. They're like adrenaline, propelling sales team members towards targets. But how often should you run this incentive, and how many are smart? Maria Oczko-Canant, Head of Global Sales Planning, Compensation and Performance Analytics at Workiva had some excellent considerations to share. Below, we're linking to more of Maria's takeaways. But tell us, how do *you* keep things interesting on your spiffs as a sales leader?

After a fun start where everyone got their revenge on Dan, we kicked off our monthly negotiator meeting with updates, reviews, and most importantly, recognition. May, with its two bank holidays, wasn’t stellar for us, but Marie Emery stood out as the top salesperson for net sales in the South—a fantastic achievement! 🎉 In the Connells world, this year’s theme has been all about #MaximisingOpportunity. We dedicated most of our meeting to discussing how to move our business forward and aim for an incredible June. Looking around at the team we’ve built fills me with immense pride. We’re all in this together. As always, there was a lot of recognition for the top performers in my region. Dan and I set a clear challenge for the months ahead, with strong support from the regional team. We have a collective desire to achieve our goals, and together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish in the agency world. Our half-year negotiator meeting will be at the start of July, where we’ll review not just June but the entire half-year. It will be my pleasure, as always, to crown the “Weapon of the Half Year” salesperson, recognising their outstanding contribution to helping our customers achieve their dream moves more than anyone else 😊 #TeamSuccess #TopPerformers #SalesRecognition #MaximisingOpportunity #Leadership #TeamPride #ConnellsGroup #RealEstateExcellence #HalfYearReview #CustomerSuccess #DreamMoves

Today marks a day that is giving me all the emotions. My last day at Watershed. It has been a little over 5 years since I first met with David Ells at Honest coffee with the intentions of networking, just having moved to Nashville. This convo grew to the new role that had opened on their sales team. I was pretty sold, but then I got to meet The Bill Conran the following week at Burger Up and that sealed the deal. I then gave a presentation to key Watershredders in the Red Keep on whatever I chose… it was on Stoicism.. cuz why not? I knew I was in for it.. because this was only the first time I felt like the dumbest person in the room. I like to think it wasn’t because I was dumb… but because this team was stupendous. For the next 5 years I got to ride shotgun in the world’s best Learning Analytics Platform, being the tip of the spear in understanding what can be possible within our L&D industry with Learning Analytics. Building use cases across industries. During that time, I got to speak with the largest companies in the world… that was cool. But what was cooler was the people I got to speak with. I guess it’s the nature of the L&D industry, pleasant people, who are out to not only make themselves better, but make as many people around them better. During that time, I was given the arena to grow. To grow without restrictions. Growth from speaking with those massive companies with amazing teams, growth from a team that provided candor, partnered towards solutions, growth from working with partners in the L&D space, meeting with industry experts. And all of these were unfolding in any given week. It was an absolute blessing. So to all my Watershredders from the journey thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’re someone I’ve spoken with from the industry during that time, thank you! I wish you all the best! Next chapter coming soon!

Nine days ago Vanderbilt beat Alabama for the first time in 40 years. After the game, Vanderbilt students rushed the field, tore down the goalpost, Marched it down Broadway & Threw it in the river. Here's what it taught me about B2B Sales: 1. Carpe Diem. If you don't seize the day and rush the field no one will do it for you. 2. Don't lose sight of your goal. It would have never ended up in the river if they had not brought the goalpost with them. 3. Win. Winners celebrate and get to break things. Losers go home. Be a winner 4. Urgency. If you don't hustle security will grab you and your deal will never go through

Step into the atmosphere of a packed stadium, the roar of the crowd reverberating as you witness the Golden State Warriors dominate the court, or immerse yourself in the electrifying energy of a Broadway theater, captivated by the stellar performance of Hamilton. What parallels can we draw between these awe-inspiring experiences and a high-performing sales organization? At their core lies an unwavering ambition for excellence, a relentless drive that fuels continuous improvement and propels them towards greatness. Ambition and craving are not merely personal attributes; they epitomize the essence of a winning sales culture. However, ambition alone is insufficient. It must be channeled effectively and aligned with the team's objectives and strategies. The shared aspiration of attaining world-class status holds significance only when accompanied by a genuine dedication to translating it into reality. Great to spend quality time with you all! Come on: Energy, Leverage, Empowerment, Validation, Action, Teamwork, Excellence
Last week our team wrapped up an incredible sales conference in the breathtaking mountains of Aspen! This year's theme, Elevate, inspired us to reach new heights in everything we do. The days were filled with engaging sales training sessions and a dynamic unconference where ideas flowed freely. We were especially inspired by an insightful session on Allyship led by Michelle Jones which brought us closer together as a team and emphasized our commitment to supporting one another. We also welcomed new team members from LD+A who joined us through our recent acquisition. Their fresh perspectives and expertise are already helping us elevate our strategies and performance. We hope you enjoyed your first sales conference Leslie Prestia, Michele Zimmerman, and Samuel Fontanez. Craig Causer couldn't make it, but he was definitely there in spirit! It wasn’t all work, as we did find time to take a jeep ride to the top of an Aspen mountain, where we enjoyed spectacular views, a sunset BBQ dinner under the stars around a campfire with live music, and smores. We ended our offsite with a hike at Maroon Bells, one of the most photographed mountain peaks in the US, which reflects into a lake below. We're sorry you missed it, Kylie Lundgren, but we'll see you in January! From learning and laughter to growth and bonding, this conference was an unforgettable experience that has us all pumped for the future. Here's to teamwork, innovation, and a successful fall selling season! Insight for those sales people (I was in it for 20 years so I understand the excitement) that celebrate with the deals they just won by announcing the closing and how much revenue it generated, stop it. You have just publicly turned your customer into a KPI. The relationship you built, the time spent strategizing, the hours of collaboration, well you belittled it, whether you know or not. Your customers have LinkedIn too and they can read. Celebrating a partnership is different than celebrating your income.
