It's #GreatOutdoorsMonth! Are you ready for unforgettable summer adventures? ☀️ Whether you're hiking scenic trails, exploring a historic town, or discovering new park stories, these essential tips will help you prep for your trip to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park: 🥾 Hike Safely: Check the weather and plan ahead. Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Dress in layers to stay comfortable. Wear long pants, long sleeves, light-colored clothing, and a hat to avoid ticks. Consider using insect repellent with DEET or another EPA-approved repellent. 💧 Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before recreating. Bring more water than usual with you and stop often to drink and give your body a chance to rest. If you feel faint or dizzy, stop and rest in the shade and drink plenty of water. 🗑️ Have a Trash Plan: Harpers Ferry NHP is a trash-free park. If you bring it with you into the park, be sure to take it with you when you leave. 📸 Take Only Pictures, Leave Only Footprints: Ruins and remnants of buildings and walls are found throughout the park. These areas are important, fragile resources. Avoid walking, sitting, or standing on these areas. If you find artifacts like glass or pottery, leave them and notify a park ranger. Although pretty or unusual looking, enjoy the flora and fauna without disturbing them. 🐾 Ruffing it? If you're planning to bring a pet, be familiar with the park's pet policies: Pets should be accustomed to crowds and other animals and must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times. Never leave pets unattended and ensure they have adequate water, shade, and supervision. More details on the pet policies can be found on the park's website: https://lnkd.in/eX7trwtU. 🅿️ Know Where to Go: Parking in Harpers Ferry’s Lower Town historic area is limited and fills up early, especially on weekends. Expect crowding and have a backup plan if the parking lot that you wanted to use is full or your preferred trail is packed. 🚶 Be Aware: The streets in Harpers Ferry are open to traffic. Stick to designated walkways and use signed crosswalks. Some trails require crossing roads and active railroad tracks, so always be cautious of cars and trains. To learn more visit tips at go.nps.gov/HFtips. 🌿 Ready to explore? Let's make this summer one for the books! ✨ 📸: S. Whether we are trying to address a reaction in public or we were responsible and used a muzzle, we're regularly met with negative remarks and criticism, such as: ◾ "Why don't you train your dog before taking it in public?" ◾ "It's your fault for not socializing and training your dog to begin with" ◾ "Dogs like yours shouldn't be allowed here" But we believe it's time to change the narrative. In our latest blog post, we share our journey with our reactive dog, Lucifer, and offer practical tips for planning safe and enjoyable adventures. It's not always easy, but it's definitely possible! https://lnkd.in/gkh7Rab8 If you have a reactive dog, know you're not alone. Your dog CAN enjoy adventures with you safely. Together, we can break down the barriers and make outdoor adventures accessible for everyone. #outdooradventures #outdoortips #hiking #hikingtips #hikingwithdogs #reactivedogs #reactivedogawareness

🐾 Commuting in London with Your Dog: A Paw-some Guide! 🐾 Navigating London's bustling streets and public transport can be a challenge, especially when you have a furry friend by your side. But fear not, dog owners! With a bit of planning and know-how, commuting in London with your dog can be a walk in the park. 🚇🐕 Top Tips for Stress-Free Dog Commuting: Plan Ahead: Check transport restrictions and guidelines for dogs on TFL services. Some lines allow dogs during off-peak hours, while others require dogs to be carried or on a lead. Pet-Friendly Carriages: Look for designated dog-friendly carriages on Overground trains and DLR. These are equipped with non-slip floors and space for your furry friend to sit or stand safely. Portable Poo Bags: Always carry a supply of poo bags. London has plenty of dog waste bins, but it's always good to be prepared. Comfort is Key: Ensure your dog is comfortable during the journey. Bring a blanket or mat for them to sit on and offer treats to keep them calm and happy. Avoid Peak Times: If possible, travel during off-peak hours to avoid crowded trains and buses. This will make the journey more enjoyable for both you and your dog. Check Weather Conditions: London weather can be unpredictable. Always check the forecast and be prepared with a raincoat or umbrella for your dog. Commuting with your dog in London may require a bit of extra planning, but the joy of having your canine companion with you during your daily travels makes it all worthwhile. Plus, it's a great way to socialise your dog and expose them to new experiences. Remember, a well-behaved dog is a welcome passenger, so make sure to train your dog to be calm and obedient during journeys. With these tips in mind, you'll be commuting like a pro in no time, making the most of your time with your furry friend in the big city! 🐶🏙️ #LondonCommute #DogFriendlyLondon #DogOwners #TFL #CommutingTips

How can camping hotel tents provide pet-friendly services? 1. Pet supplies are essential Providing pet supplies for pets in the pet room is the basis of pet-friendly services, such as pet beds/mini tents, pet bowls, urine pads, pet wipes, snacks, toys, etc., and making appropriate adjustments according to different types of pets, such as cat toilets, cat scratching boards, etc. 2. Health commitment is more assured After checking out of the pet room, the pet room must be disinfected and cleaned. 3. Specially improved or designed room facilities Glamping hotels provide pet-themed guest rooms. The beds in the rooms are specially raised to prevent pets from affecting the owner's rest. And customize the beds, pillows, carpets, doorplates and other surroundings according to the themes of different rooms. 4. Create a pet paradise Divide or plan a relatively independent pet public activity area in the hotel. Plan an area where pet owners can dine with their pets, so that parents and children can spend a good time in the hotel together. #Glitzcamp #PetFriendlyHotel #CampingSolutions Content:https://lnkd.in/dTaEUMkr Email: admin@shelter-structures.com

Living in Dubai with a dog is amazing, but the summer heat? Not so much.... Don't get me wrong, those big brown eyes begging for a walk are hard to resist, but keeping Leo safe during these scorching months is my top priority. That's where responsible pet ownership in the desert kicks in, and let me tell you, it's been an adventure! Here's how we're keeping Leo cool this summer.. Early Bird Gets the Walk: We swapped our midday strolls for pre-sunrise adventures. As the sun paints the sky, we're out with Leo sporting his new high-visibility vest –safety first, gotta see and be seen! Paws for the Cause: Dubai's sidewalks turn into fiery surfaces in the summer sun. If it feels uncomfortable for me to walk on barefoot, it's definitely too hot for Leo's paws. The latest addition to Leo's summer wardrobe? Booties! The first time we put them on, we were in hysterics. Those tiny paw-shoes looked so comical, and Leo's initial attempts at walking were, well, let's just say hilarious. But he's a quick learner, and now he doesn't even bat an eye when I slip them on for our evening walks. Hydration Hero: Leo's water bowl is his personal oasis, constantly refilled with fresh, cool water. Ice cubes are a lifesaver. Finding the perfect water bowl for walks has been a bit of a challenge. Leo prefers to drink water out of my hands, which is fine by me, but it's not always the most practical solution. I'm thinking about getting a lightweight, inflatable water bowl that folds up for easy carrying, do you have any recommendations? Cool Down Corners: Indoors, we created cool zones for Leo. A cooling mat strategically placed in the shade is a haven, and a wet towel for occasional paw wipes is a refreshing treat. Let's all be responsible pet owners and ensure ou furry friends stay happy and healthy this summer! Dubai's heat can be brutal, but with a little planning, our walks can still be enjoyable and safe for our pups. Do you have any Do & Don’t tips that you would like to share? I would love to hear from you in the comments. #BeatTheHeat #DogWalking #PetCommunity #LivingInDubai #entrepreneur
