As we just got back from Amplemarket's company offsite, here are 3 standout session ideas that every company should do during an offsite: 1. Customer Engagement and AMA 🙋♂️ We kicked off with an interactive sharing session, inviting a key customer of ours, Multiplier, to share their journey and insights with the team. This set the stage for an 'Ask Me Anything' segment, offering our team firsthand perspectives on client needs and experiences. The depth of questions and the customer's candid responses truly bridged the gap between our work and its real-world impact. Thank you for such invaluable feedback Colm F.! 2. Fun Product Testing 🍻 Next, we switched gears to a playful product testing session. It wasn't just about finding bugs or suggesting improvements; this session was packed with a spirit of play and exploration. Seeing our team engage with our products in such a lighthearted, yet focused manner was not only insightful but also a testament to our commitment to continuous improvement. Pro-tip: run these sessions in the afternoon with a round of cold beers to elevate the team spirit! 🍻 3. Hackathon 🏆 We wrapped up with an awesome hackathon. Teams brainstormed and developed innovative solutions under 2 days, showcasing incredible creativity and teamwork. The energy was palpable, and the results were nothing short of inspiring. What was delivered there was truly incredible and the learning is obvious: we need to do these a lot more often! Each session was a unique blend of learning, engagement, and fun, reinforcing our team's cohesion and dedication. These offsite moments are not just about stepping away from the daily grind but about coming together to celebrate, innovate, and grow! On Jan 23 I attended a Product Diversity Meet-up organised by Just Eat Takeaway.com in Amsterdam HQ (link at the end). Here's a 2-minute read of the entire evening. The panel consisted of speakers who work on the product in JET: Jessica Hall, Hyesung Lim, Ozlem O, Xander Jennie, and Hassan Charaf. The discussion was about. Well. Diversity. In this case, about the diversity of forms a product management (PM) may take. My takeaways from the meeting: On developing a skillset A wide expertise is what makes a great PM. In the case of panel speakers, the usual combination is business + something: marketing, technical expertise, or domain knowledge. The idea of T-shaped expertise is not new. For the job of PM, it feels like a wider skillset is more beneficial than a deeper skillset. To me, it makes sense, because if your final goal is to ship the product, you need to coordinate the different parts of the team. It will be easier if you’re able to speak the language of every role involved. This discussion also reminded me of the post by Ian McCallister on Top-1% PM vs Top-10% PM: https://lnkd.in/eQxjm4es On landing your first PM job Expand your network and utilize your domain expertise. For example, Xander Jennie became a junior PM in JET by doing just that. He started at JET as a courier and moved up to Operations Specialist. This gave him two things: an ability to connect with people via a corporate network, and a deep understanding of JET operations. The former helped Xander to get noticed in the company, and the latter gave him valuable insights about how JET works in the real world which made him an irreplaceable part of the product team. Month end today 🥱 It’s fair to say I’m glad to say this month is over ✅ Big month for internal developments ❌ Not so great in terms of growth Nonetheless, we probably needed it because as we look to gear up again everything needs to be in place Here’s what’s been achieved: ➡ Product, developed and improved product to maximise the ROI for our clients ➡ Client roadmap build, to become irreplaceable to our clients essentially becoming their marketing arm (Opposed to just a lead generation agency) ➡ Internal comms development specifically our biweekly calls & progress monitoring  (To maximise time, oversight & alignment) ➡ Funnel development & creative strategy for LeadChoice ➡ Intense employee training to make sure the team are fully equipped for the growth The last 2 months have been eye opener for us since we hit capacity, especially with us needing to maintain standards. The team are probably sick of me saying: “Everything affects everything”  “Sweat the small stuff” “We don’t build a wall, we lay it brick by brick” But now finally, I can comfortably say we’re ready to go again. November we’re coming for you 🦍

Brez went INTERNATIONAL about 20 days ago. And I wanted to share a reflection on how we did it and how we can do our next launch better This came with plenty of its own unique hurdles, but the team crushed it overall. Dan quarterbacking everything logistical which involved a lot of back and forth on shipping rates and costs - primarily because of our heavy weight and how much we wanted to subsidize this to the customer since it definitely isn't a cheap product to ship heavy 12oz cans. Once we got the greenlight that the costs were going to be as good as it could be (which meant - we - subsidized these costs from our international buyers) Corbin - briefed us with a nice deck on each of the moving pieces. We have a brand unifying since across channels so that - email / paid / socials / founder posts all had the same message and went out as seemless as possible. We're small but we have a lot of moving peices across each department so one deck that gets final sign off from Aaron and Dan then all channels move to execution. Alyssa / Isabella owned email execution and comms to subscribers which was a light lift since our list is pretty small for those abroad - but the abroad peeps are loud lol Things we might try for the next product drop or launch Sign up to be notified of the drop / reward subscribers first regardless of where they are with us Start at an entry level price point before raising the price to get some of the initial feedback of how the product tastes / effect of the product. Then for the launch process itself it simple but not easy. Organic push first - 1-3 days before Then to subscribers - 1-2 days before Full email list next Finish with paid media So far international traffic is less than 5% of our traffic. But it will continue to be a major segment as we grow into the non-infused space. Overall Brez is officially (almost) all over the world so I can’t cry about it too much.
