We learned many things while building FourSquare. One of the most important lessons is to be clear to investors about what the company will and will not do. And be open about the priorities of the things that have to be done. -Dennis Crowley, Co-founder of Foursquare

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 ✨ When I first started Markman Media back in 2019, I knew stepping out of my comfort zone would be a constant journey. It wasn’t easy, but every step outside that familiar space brought growth and new opportunities. Here are some strategies I’ve used that can help you too. ✅ Start Small and Build Momentum My journey began with small steps. I remember the first time I attended a major networking event a decade ago. The initial discomfort was real, but by starting with one-on-one conversations, I gradually found my footing. Start with manageable challenges and gradually take on bigger ones. ✅ Embrace the Unknown One of the most recent pivotal moments was when I took on an opportunity to present at the Unconference Bali. Speaking in front of top tech global leaders was daunting, but it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Embracing the unknown and viewing it as a chance to learn can transform your perspective. ✅ Seek Support and Guidance Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors and peers who provided support and guidance. Don’t hesitate to seek advice and encouragement from your network. It can make a significant difference. ✅ Reflect and Learn Every challenge faced is a lesson learned. After each event or project, take time to reflect. What did you learn? What can you improve on? This process of continuous learning keeps you growing and evolving. ✅ Celebrate Your Progress Finally, celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Recognising progress keeps you motivated and ready for the next challenge. Each step out of your comfort zone is a step towards your goals. Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t easy, but it’s where growth happens. I encourage you to take that first step today. You never know where it might lead. ✨ #motivation #selfcare #inspiration #success #mariamarkman #mmbrand #markmanmedia #BRANDD Markman Media Pty Ltd

Is your vision clear? Are people bought in? Your vision has to align with your team and future candidates if you want to attract the right people and keep them around. I was asked a question at the Agency & Business Owner Roundtable we hosted at CreatorClub. If someone's not bought into your vision, their skills won't matter in the long run. Transparency about big-picture goals and long-term vision for your company is important — or your team, no matter how skilled they are, won't know what they're sticking around for vs. moving on to a similar role elsewhere. Simplify the vision to make it tangible and understandable, and make sure it at least feels achievable. King Street Media, Ryan Wong, Farial K | #hiring #recruitment #careers

Blah blah blah. Here’s Manjoor changing a lightbulb, I’ll let you write your own posts. Anyways, there is a point. We’re opening up our doors for creative interns - so if you know anyone looking to get some experience in a creative agency, give me, Millie or Becky a shout! #employerbrand #agencylife

Celebrating Ben, our Creative Director as he celebrates 2 years with Tin City Impact! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? Before joining, I had a chance to interact with the team, so I knew they were friendly people with whom I felt I could connect. Fast forward two years, and we still have a team that gels together well! We do our best to hire people who we think will fit well culturally, so I'm glad nothing has changed. 𝐈𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? Oh boy... When I first joined, one of the "most important things for Ben" for the quarter was to "figure out Ben's role" here. Haha. Two years in, I'm now leading the creative team. I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow into this role (and continue growing!). I remember telling someone recently that if I was told I'd be doing what I'm doing now on the first day I joined, I'd probably be overwhelmed to the point of quitting. I think I've come a long way. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬/𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬? In the short term, I'm looking forward to finishing the couple of projects we are juggling at the moment. In the mid-term, I'm looking forward to finishing reading all the books I bought on branding (TCI's unlimited book perk is awesome!). In the long term, I aim to establish myself in a niche in the industry. Right now, I'm thinking about branding, because there is just so much power wielded by successful brands. But as I read more, who knows where it'll bring me! #tincityimpact #digitalmarketingKL #kualalumpur #creativesKL #montkiara

Let's write a TikTok strategy for Soho House & Co... Since Soho House is known for its exclusivity, and popularity with high flyers including Harry Styles and Drake, the best way you can play on people’s emotions is to give them a taster of what’s inside - a tentative 'POV you’re in Soho House'… 🍴 🥂 1) THE EXPERIENCE - give people a tiny taste of what's inside. 🎨 🛁 2) THE EVENTS - genuine insight into what happens within, the opportunities available, the industry leaders you get to meet, the people ! 🌴 🏞 3) THE LOCATIONS - encapsulating how much culture, location and country is part of each House, and how that unites creativity and creatives from all over the world. P.P.S. Sofia Di Liberto, Nathalie Leach, Katie Smith, Velma Simmons, Jonathan Heaf, Alexandra Findlay, Gemma Boner, Zeni Ndebele, Sarah Graham check this out! #TikTokStrategy #TikTokGrowth
