Just read this interesting article in Financial Express “Business family scions have good run in startup world”. It describes that the success rate of startup is high if the founders are coming from family business backgrounds or are second or third generation business persons. Examples like Rare Rabbit, Clark Hotels, Go Zero, etc. Interestingly VCs and PEs have a positive review for these founders and their startups as they view them as safer investments, some key reasons for that are:- It goes unsaid that early stage startup carries risks which get mitigated by these founders as they have much needed business acumen, experience to handle the complex problems. These founders are more inclined to make brand legacy which creates a trust factor. They understand the governance of business which is essential to build mechanism for scalable output. Already established network and connections which required stakeholders. Last but not least proven track record. I myself coming from business background can totally relate to that.

I would change the rules of the game 💡 Imagine if investors were the ones looking for founders, instead of the other way around. Sounds crazy, right? But think about it: what if the best ideas and smartest people were the ones being pursued? Instead of founders constantly pitching and trying to prove themselves, investors would be competing to support them. This could create a fairer and more effective startup world. In this new scenario, founders could focus on building their projects without worrying so much about finding funding. Investors would actively look for the best startups, offering not just money but also mentorship, resources, and connections. This isn’t just a fantasy. By changing the game and the rules, we can make a place where innovation flourishes and the best ideas get the support they need.
