Egypt Launches Wi-Fi Calling Service to Enhance Telecom Connectivity Today, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the launch of Wi-Fi Calling services in Egypt’s telecom market. This game-changing service allows users to make high-quality voice calls over Wi-Fi in areas where mobile coverage is limited, such as high-rise buildings or remote locations. The agreements to activate this service were signed between NTRA and Egypt’s telecom operators: Telecom Egypt, Orange Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, and Etisalat by e& Egypt. Users can now enjoy seamless connectivity without additional charges, using their existing mobile plans. Egypt: NTRA Prepares for Telecom Price Adjustments Amid Rising Operational Costs Mohamed Shamroukh, CEO of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), revealed that the authority has given initial approval for increasing telecommunications service prices in Egypt. During the 5G session at the Cairo ICT 2024 exhibition, Shamroukh announced that the NTRA has authorized the four mobile operators to raise prices for voice and internet services.
