It’s amazing how often people perpetuate the misguided belief that veganism is an elitist lifestyle, out of reach for the average person. Many also claim that a vegan diet is significantly more expensive than a “regular” diet. When someone talks about a “regular” diet, they are often referring to the SAD—Standard American Diet, which, ironically, is costly in more ways than one. When comparing a vegan diet to the SAD diet, it’s important to examine the facts, not assumptions. Here is a real cost comparison—not just theoretical but based on actual numbers. A wholefood vegan plant-based diet is not just for SICK people. There is no dietary programme in the world that can give the kind of high endurance that you get from a diet high in grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. It's the most natural way to eat. It’s only been about 11,000 thousand years since humans domesticated and started eating animals… for over 200,000 years of evolution, we did not eat animals. I have helped hundreds of clients worldwide take on a vegan wholefood plant-based diet. They thrive and assist others to live this way. What is crucial to success is the experience of feeling better. This by far outweighs all the theories… it’s the feeling better that will keep you on track. My love of living a healthy and vibrant life inspires me daily to grow healthy vegan communities around the globe. Join us in service for a healthy world for humans and non-humans alike. #vegan #plantbasednutrition #health #planet #macrobiotic #macrobiotics #feedtheworld #plants #healthconsultation #love #life

Are there health benefits to going vegan? More and more people are eating vegan meals – and part of the reason is it’s seen as healthier. Is it really better for you? In the first of a new vegan series on BBC Future and BBC Good Food, Jessica Brown looks at the evidence. The number of people cutting down on meat and dairy, or cutting these foods from their diets entirely, has been rising over the last decade. The number of vegans in the UK, for example, quadrupled between 2006 and 2018, according to research by The Vegan Society. One common motivation for shunning steak and stilton and going vegan is the promised health benefits. The vegan diet is generally considered to be higher in fibre and lower in cholesterol, protein, calcium and salt than an omnivorous diet – but there are still misconceptions and concerns around cutting meat, fish, eggs and dairy completely from our diets. One common concern is whether a vegan diet provides enough vitamin B12. B12 helps prevent nerve damage, and is found in meat, fish, eggs and dairy, but not in fruit or vegetables. It's recommended that adults consume 1.5 micrograms of the vitamin per day. Source: https://lnkd.in/egKkaDj
