Fantastic to meet 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 at the Education for Peace fundraising event, organized by #SanMarino to celebrate its 50th anniversary as a UNESCO member state. At UNESCO, we firmly believe that #education is the foundation of 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲. It is essential to protect it to offer future generations a safer, more sustainable, and equitable world. But peace does not build itself. It requires a shared vision, concrete actions, and collective mobilization. The historic adoption of UNESCO's Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights, and Sustainable Development in 2023 testifies to such a commitment. Today, we have a unique opportunity to translate this vision into tangible action through UNESCO’s Education for Peace programme. But we cannot achieve this alone. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀. We need collective momentum, renewed ambition, and stronger support to build a more peaceful and resilient world.
He looks starstruck 🥰
Totally agree. Please tell your various satellite offices to be a bit more open to partnership opportunities. My foundation reached out to a few and got told they dont want support (for the record, we run the online academies of 451 official cities in 27 countries from Afghanistan to Nigeria to South Africa) and the offer was free of commercial angles. But I was told the internal bureaucracy is such that most prefer not to go through the process of onboarding new partners. I can't verify the truth of this. Just pointing out that there are foundations like ours that would love to play our part and contribute to the amazing work you do
It would have been nice if UNESCO had engaged Sting in the defence of artistic freedom, but somehow UN frequently attract artists to engage in issues outside their normal domain. . Why is that?
Congratulations Stefania, and to both of you. #Musicians understand how education needs to transform because music pedagogy teaches much of what classroom pedagogy should refocus on: developing children to strive for excellence, yet foster emotional expression and connectedness with humaneness. Musicians demonstrate how collaboration develops this #connectedness and the resulting enjoyment and #happiness when playing and performing together. Studying and achieving together, rather than in solitary rows, would brighten up #classroom dynamics. #ReimaginingEducation
In deed education transferring, is a wrope with too many nodes... each nodes will serve to connect new generations and regenerate over years. And in this event Unesco education arm and STING where the NODES that will empower education and culture and illuminate one day IGNORANCE!!

1moThis is an inspiring moment you’ve captured. Education’s quiet strength lies in its ability to foster empathy, critical thinking, and cooperation—qualities essential for navigating an era of ecological upheavals, social fragmentation, and the rapid rise of AI. By nurturing minds adept at understanding both our shared humanity and transformative technologies, we can ensure that our commitment to peace is not just an ideal but a lasting, collective reality.
