In the Netherlands, the hardest part is not finding a job but finding accommodation.   People often think that getting a job or an internship is the hardest part. However, when I arrived, I received 3 job offers in 3 weeks — and my English wasn’t even fluent. But… it took me 6 months to find long-term accommodation. And that was really stressful! During the first six months, I had to sublet an apartment through an agency, while storing my furniture in storage. A real test of patience.   𝗠𝘆 𝟱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀:   𝟭 Get help from a real estate agency specializing in expatriations from the start of your project. I know some great ones! 𝟮 Find out about rental prices in advance. 𝟯 Consider the possibility of buying a property. In some cases, it is more interesting than renting, always with the support of an agency. 𝟰 Beware of scams that ask you to pay in advance without seeing the accommodation. 𝟱 Make sure you can register and get your BSN number (the precious citizen number).   Moving to the Netherlands can be a challenge, but with the right resources, it is completely doable!
