Stellarvue’s Post

Ken Walker caught this staggering shot of the Seagull Nebula (IC 2177) in the constellations Monoceros and Canis Major with his SVX130T-Raptor. In one of the farthest arms of the Milky Way galaxy, this nebula lies roughly 3,800 light-years away from Earth and spans about 200 light-years across. It is also part of the larger star-forming region CMa R1, which is the most prominent feature of the Canis Major OB1 association. https://lnkd.in/ghSBWDBx
