In 2024, we embraced new opportunities to develop drugs for rare diseases while staying committed to reducing animal testing. We achieve this by utilizing innovative approaches, such as generating multiparametric data through in vitro models, which are alternatives for animal health research and human health studies. #phdlife #scientists #molecularbiology #genetics #lifesciences #inspirational #reduceanimaltesting

I am enjoying these insightful talks from around the world at the #multiomics conference December #2024 in #Brisbane. Really eye opening! Very excited to learn about how these state of the art technologies (all the omics modalities) are being used to improve human health worldwide with lots of translational values to incorporate these into Animal health, biosecurity, agriculture and more! #spatial #transcriptomics #Pathology #H&E #Multiplex

Gene therapy is no longer an exclusive treatment modality for humans. #ProtectAnimalHealth
Today, Protect Animal Health Inc., a Taiwan company focused on developing advanced therapies for companion animals, announced a licensing partnership with Rejuvenate Bio, a gene therapy startup co-founded by George Church, a pioneer in synthetic biology from Harvard University. Under this agreement, Protect Animal Health will obtain exclusive rights to develop, distribute, and market Rejuvenate Bio's gene therapy for canine heart failure in the Asia-Pacific region. Protect Animal Health plans to launch exploratory preclinical trials for pets in Taiwan by the end of 2024. Human biologists have it easy (so they say)! - - It's a couple of ethnicities, and you have much of the variability covered. But what about animal /veterinary scientists? It's still not 100% clear how much of the variability results in pharmacogenomic differences, but what would you do if you could find this out? If you are searching for biospecimens for companion animals, let's have a chat! #animalhealth #biospecimens #research #biotech #pharma

#WorldHealthDay: Although working in #veterinary medicine, let’s pause a second as #animal and human health are closely related. Specifically thinking about #zoonoses (diseases that can spread between animals and humans) and the animal workers having daily interactions with animals, who are at higher risks of becoming infected with such a #disease. 🦠 Also, therapeutics are shared between animals and humans, with strict limitations regarding their use in animals to preserve critical treatment options for human medicine. Let us all work together towards a sustainable future for humans and animals 🌍💚
