Many people assume Medicare will cover all their long-term care needs. However, in reality, Medicare only covers a portion of skilled nursing expenses – and for a limited time (if at all). Having a long-term care (LTC) plan in place ensures you’re fully protected and not left with unexpected out-of-pocket costs. Take control of your future today. #LongTermCareAwarenessMonth #LTCAwareness

Medicare does NOT cover long-term care. Yes, it will help cover skilled nursing facilities after meeting certain criteria, but after day 100, you are responsible for 100% of the cost. Considering that the average length of stay at a long-term care facility is 3 years, relying on Medicare is risky. #financialplanning #taxplanning #financialadvisors #cfp #ltc #longtermcare

In April, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule implementing a minimum staffing standard to address poor-performing nursing homes. This rule requires facilities to provide a minimum of 3.48 hours of direct care per resident per day (HPRD). Though many nursing home residents will likely need care that far exceeds the 3.48 HPRD. If nursing homes wanted to truly care for their residents, they would step up their staffing game. It's not just a rule - it's a responsibility to ensure the well-being of those in their care and uphold their duties as a nursing home. Don't let your loved ones suffer in understaffed facilities. Find out more about the new rule and how it will impact staffing, residents, and the facilities, here: https://lnkd.in/eyr3Y_ff #nursinghomeabuse #endelderabuse

"Expansion of home health care could help people that might otherwise go to a nursing home remain in their communities. Recent evidence indicates that increased Medicaid home care spending significantly reduced the use of nursing facilities." #publicpolicy #medicare #healthcare https://bit.ly/3P9VYnJ
