【Evaluation and Analysis of Logistics Efficiency of Agricultural Products in China】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gEQ4ppbS (Authored by Shanji Yao, et al., from Nanjing Tech University, China.) As an important branch of the logistics industry, agricultural product logistics plays an important role in promoting rural economic development and improving farmers' income. However, due to the existing problems in the development of China's #agricultural_products logistics at this stage, China's agricultural products logistics efficiency is relatively low, and there is a serious problem of circulation loss at the same time. This paper uses three-stage DEA and Malmquist model to evaluate and analyze the #logistics_efficiency of agricultural products in China statically and dynamically from the time trend and regional differences.

I am elated to share that the Observer Research Foundation published my article based on the research I conducted during my time at Schwarzman Scholars in Beijing. While there is immense focus on China's economic policy, its manufacturing sector, and its military, Chinese agriculture and the lessons its holds, especially for India, is often papered over. Chinese agriculture is a microcosm of the experimental approach that the Chinese state has adopted, and an interesting case study of the consequences of its GDP-KPI driven economic policy. In this article I scrutinize China's agricultural policy since 1949, the lessons it holds for the world, and identify the implications of China's increasingly voracious food consumption.

The first policy statement China’s government releases each year focuses on agricultural and rural issues. The No.1 Central Document this year unveiled a detailed roadmap to advance national rural revitalisation, and also prioritised food security, farmers’ income growth and fighting poverty, reported The Global Times. The document calls for the study and use of examples set by the “Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation” project, which was launched in 2003, in east China’s Zhejiang, when Xi was Party boss there. Beijing needs the rural economy to improve to bolster food security and improve the lives of 480m people still living in the countryside. In one key sector, China wants to address an over-reliance on seed imports from major exporters like the United States, where firms are entering the “Industry 4.0 Era”, forming complete industry chains from cultivation to sales, and utilising big data, AI and gene editing, while Chinese firms still focus on molecular breeding. #China #Agriculture #FoodSecurity #RuralRevitalisation
