We need wildfire reform and better forest management practices in BC. The McDougall Creek fire did not need to happen; excess red tape & bureaucracy, unwillingness to work with local experts, and mismanagement is what caused the fire to get out of control. Wildfires need to be put out rapidly and forests need to be managed effectively. An incredible group of locals, including several Registered Professional Foresters, are looking to make a documentary highlighting how we can turn the dial and bring health and prosperity back to our forest and prevent wildfires from devastating our province. It's about the environment, preservation, sustainability, and even economic stability. For our forests, and for our future. Please watch this trailer and consider donating to make this vision a reality! https://lnkd.in/gzUs6EWu

🌱 How We Can Help Rosebud Continuum Rebuild After Hurricane Milton 🌱 Like many in the Pasco County community, ROSEBUD CONTINUUM was hit hard by Hurricane Milton. In addition to the loss of 20 trees, their 2,500-square-foot greenhouse was completely destroyed. Despite the challenges, their commitment to sustainability education and community engagement remains as strong as ever. 💡 What Makes Rosebud Special: Rosebud Continuum is a beacon of innovation in sustainability education, with composting stations like: Biodigesters for turning food waste into energy. Compost Barrels for creating nutrient-rich soil. Textile Composting to repurpose old fabrics. 🚨 How You Can Help: Rosebud has launched a GoFundMe to rebuild and restore its facilities. Contributions will go toward clearing debris, rebuilding the greenhouse, and restoring their educational programs. Let’s help this amazing organization get back to what it does best: teaching the world how small, sustainable actions can make a huge difference. 💚 #Sustainability #MakeCompostingMainstream #CommunitySupport #30C

Today is Giving Tuesday and if, like me, you consider nature conservation/restoration vital in the fight against #climatechange (and are a New Englander), please consider donating to the Massachusetts Oyster Project. Oysters play a critical role in the regulation of our coastal ecosystems and the Massachusetts Oyster Project is focused on restoring the native oyster reefs that once populated much of our coastline. Among their myriad benefits: 🦪 A single adult oyster can filter 50 gallons of water today, removing nitrogen and other sediment that can contribute to ocean acidification and harmful algal blooms 🦪 Oyster reefs can dampen the impact of storm surges and limit coastal erosion, much like mangroves 🦪 Oysters promote biodiversity by providing habitats for other marine life To make a donation, follow the link below. The fundraising goal is $15,000, which will be matched for a grand total of $30,000.
Love oysters? Discover the amazing history of Massachusetts' underwater oyster reefs, once abundant along our coast. As the natural oyster population has faced challenges from larger boats, warming waters, and severe storms, we're committed to safely restoring these vital populations to our rivers, oceans, and coastal estuaries. Over 90% of every dollar we raise directly supports our restoration efforts. Join us in revitalizing our shorelines and make a difference by donating as part of #GivingTuesday! #MassOyster https://buff.ly/4fWf7Fg

Our Pippa made a commitment at the beginning of 2024 to plant a tree for every bid we have helped our clients to win, so today she has made 32 sapling donations to the National Trust. 32 wins - from Term Maintenance Contracts, major airfields, and surfacing frameworks, to footpath surfacing schemes, public realm projects, and water contracts, each one has enabled our clients to keep their teams employed, grow their businesses, and make the difference they want in the world. That makes us very proud 😊 And now, we are doing our small bit help the National Trust to plant and establish 20 million trees by 2030. Trees are essential for life. They clean the air we breathe, lock up carbon as they grow and provide homes for wildlife. Trees are one of our best natural defences against climate change, which is having a devastating impact on places where people and nature can thrive. The National Trust predicts that planting and establishing 20 million trees will, at their peak, store around 300,000 tonnes of carbon a year. We must plan for the future of woodlands, parklands and orchards so we can tackle the nature and climate crises together. Help them to plant more trees today and support life for years to come - click here to make your own donation - https://lnkd.in/eSfquqQS

Farmers, rural communities, and frontline communities need emergency assistance, but also a safety net and long term federal programs that are realistic to building on farm resilience to #climatechange. Until we have a #FarmBill proposal that is adaptive, dynamic and makes the bold investments needed to respond to our #climatecrisis, we will always be underprepared and underesourced to face these challenges. Today we can donate to help our those in need, but long term and bold investments for #climateaction are necessary. https://lnkd.in/e3UJ7AU5

At Groundfog, we believe in giving back, and in 2025, we’re proud to support Arrels Marines! 💙 At Arrels Marines it is all about protecting and restoring marine ecosystems while creating a deeper connection between people and the environment. They run programs to study and heal coastal areas, educate communities about living sustainably, and work together with locals to tackle environmental challenges. 🌍✨ This year, we’re going all in — not just with donations, but by supporting their mission. From raising awareness to promoting their cause, we’re committed to helping Arrels Marines make waves for marine preservation. 🐠🪸 To make an even bigger impact, we’re encouraging our Foggies to contribute through individual donations, which #Groundfog will double. Together, we’ll donate the final amount after 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Biodiversity is more than a buzzword—it's the key to a thriving planet and resilient communities. 🌍 Rainforests, home to 80% of the planet's terrestrial biodiversity, are vital for a vast array of living things: from stunning large mammals like elephants and leopards, to millions of tiny (but no less important) insects, to the people who depend on them for their livelihoods. 🌱 The reality is, countless incredible species are disappearing at an alarming rate—scientists estimate 1,000 times faster than the natural extinction rate. But it doesn’t have to be this way. At the Rainforest Alliance, we’re fueled by our passion for the natural world and the remarkable diversity of life that fills our forests—and we know you are, too. 💚 ⌛ The clock is ticking, and we need your help. Make a donation today while your gift goes twice as far to give a voice to the plants and animals that can’t speak for themselves! 📢 👉 https://bit.ly/3VK4FsG #RainforestAlliance #Biodiversity #Rainforests #Fundraising #ActNow #GiveBack #Donate
