As a charity auctioneer, arriving early to an event is one of the best ways to set the stage for a successful auction, as it’s about establishing trust with the guests. 💡 When I arrive early, I can mingle, introduce myself as the charity auctioneer, and learn about the guests’ passion for the cause. These conversations give me valuable insights into what motivates them to bid, which helps me tailor my approach. By the time the auction begins, I’m no longer just the “auctioneer,” but someone they feel they know and trust. 🤝 Building trust is key to any successful auction. As a charity auctioneer, I need to make sure the guests feel confident in me and my ability to lead the auction effectively. By arriving early, I can show my commitment to the cause, engage in meaningful conversations, and make sure the guests feel comfortable and excited to participate. Plus, early interactions help me gauge the energy in the room. I can sense who’s particularly enthusiastic about certain auction items, allowing me to bring that extra spark into the auction when it matters most. ⚡ Ultimately, being a charity auctioneer isn’t just about calling bids—it's about creating an environment where people feel connected and ready to give generously. Arriving early helps me do just that, making the night more dynamic and successful for the charity. #CharityAuctioneer #NonProfitEvents #Fundraising #EventPlanning #BuildingTrust #AuctionSuccess #auctioneer 🎉

Planning a silent auction? Auction platforms are the go-to for good reason - they’re packed full of features and make it easy to raise funds for the good causes you care about. It’s just a matter of choosing the right one for your needs. We’ve put together a handy list of things to look out for when choosing your auction platform: 👉 Which features are included and at what price? Most fundraisers need to reduce costs, so ask each platform provider how they can help. 👉 How easy is it to use? Sign up for a demo, try it out, and ask if you can set up a test campaign. 👉 How much can you customize the design? With flexible customization options, you can tailor your auction to match your brand perfectly. 👉 Check what notifications are available - for example, outbid notifications should include a link to bid again. 👉 Have you got enough of the right auction items? Platforms that provide a catalog of items can be a great way to supplement donated prizes and, when chosen well, will help you raise more. Not sure where to start or which platform is best for you? GalaBid has been providing fundraising platforms since 2011 - we know the industry and are always here to give unbiased advice. As a charity auctioneer, my role goes far beyond just running the live auction 🕺🎤 Fundraising is a team effort, and I believe it's crucial for the auctioneer to get involved in every aspect of the event—from selling raffle tickets 🎟️ to hyping up the silent auction 🖋️. Why? Because every penny counts 💰, and it's our job to create an atmosphere of generosity that flows through every part of the evening. If I can help squeeze a few more bids on the silent auction or encourage someone to buy just one more raffle ticket, that extra effort can make all the difference in hitting the charity's fundraising goals. I’m also a firm believer that the fundraising doesn’t stop when the live auction ends! I keep going right up until the moment I leave the venue 🕒. Whether it's pushing that final donation or reminding people of the good cause on their way out the door, it’s all about maximising the impact of the event. I even managed to sell a TukTuk to the 360 Video guys who took this video, just before I was about to leave. Being a charity auctioneer isn’t just about selling items. It’s about driving a mission. And I’ll keep driving until the very last second 🚗💨. #CharityAuctioneer #Fundraising #EveryPennyCounts #MakingADifference #AuctionLife #auctioneer

We are live with our Silent Auction! There are more donations still generously coming in! Keep checking back! Thank you again to everyone who has helped support Whiskey in a Teacup 2024! Our goal is $50K this year! We are working hard to make this happen! Myths vs Facts about Child Sexual Abuse. ❌Myth: Child sexual abuse is a rare experience. ✔ Fact: Child sexual abuse is not rare. Retrospective research indicates that as many as 1 out of 4 girls and 1 out of 6 boys will experience some form of sexual abuse before the age of 18.1 However, because child sexual abuse is by its very nature secretive, many of these cases are never reported. ❌Myth: A child is most likely to be sexually abused by a stranger. ✔ Fact: Children are most often sexually abused by someone they know and trust. Approximately three quarters of reported cases of child sexual abuse are committed by family members or other individuals who are considered part of the victim’s “circle of trust.”2 ❌Myth: Children who are sexually abused will never recover. ✔Fact: Many children are quite resilient, and with a combination of effective counseling and support from their parents or caregivers, children can and do recover from such experiences. Source - The National Child Traumatic Stress Network ♦ 1 in 3 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18 ♦ 1 in 5 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18 ♦ 1 in 5 children are solicited sexually while on the Internet before the age of 18 These are insane numbers. We are working to change them, really to eradicate them! Thank you for all your love and support! See you all in less than a week! One of the most important moments in a charity auction is right at the very start! 🎤 As an auctioneer, my top priority is to get everyone’s attention before the bidding begins, especially in long rooms where guests can easily be distracted by conversations or the distance from the stage. 📢 Sometimes, you’ve got to get creative to make sure everyone’s focused. I’m not afraid to do whatever it takes to grab attention—even if it means standing on a chair in the middle of the room with a wireless mic! Why? Because once you have the whole room engaged, you set the tone for the auction and keep the energy high throughout. 💥 From experience, I know that when everyone is tuned in and having fun from the get-go, the bids start rolling in and the funds for the cause skyrocket! 🚀 So, whether it’s by moving into the center of the action, or even climbing onto a chair —I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure the crowd is with me! 💪 The key to a successful auction is starting strong! 🎯 Taken at the Rosie May Foundation ball, by Steve Edwards - All of Business Commercial Photography📸 #auctioneer #auction #fundraisingtips #charityevent #fundraiser #FundraisingSuccess #EventTips

Pro Tip Day 16: Live Auction Ordering Your Live Auction Items: Use a bell curve strategy when ordering your live auction items. Start with a strong item to grab attention, then place your most sought-after and high-value items in the middle to keep the momentum going. Finish with a consignment trip that can be sold multiple times—what we call the “Oprah Moment” (You’re going to Mexico, and you’re going to Mexico!). It’s a great way to sweep up extra donations and end the auction on a high note. What’s your approach to ordering auction items? Do you have a go-to strategy? #AuctionOrder #BellCurveStrategy #MaximizeBidding #LiveAuctionTips #YourRocktioneer
