Gratitude is your direct path to a happy, healthy and wealthy life. This microstep from Thrive Global is the first step on that path! Simple morning gratitude to start your day. Think of 3 things. It is quick, it’s free, and it works! I also like to book-end my day with gratitude. As my head hits the pillow I quickly think of 3 things that went well, wins from the day. You’ll sleep more peacefully knowing you did something well that day! Give it a try. #gratitude #microhabits #healthyhabits #successhabits

As I completed my run this morning I was feeling especially grateful for my health and my incredible family and friends who have all supported me over the years. Thank you! 😊 While Thanksgiving may be officially over, opportunities to give thanks are endless. Practicing gratitude is important to do “every” day, not just on holidays. As we discussed on NPR’s WHYY Studio 2 show and wrote about in our latest Psychology Today blog post (see link below): “Imagine if we had a national exercise day and focused on exercising on that one day and maybe a few days leading up to it. Then, for the rest of the year, we went back to our usual schedule, forgetting about exercising. That wouldn’t be that beneficial, would it? It likely wouldn’t provide a long-lasting boost to our health. Similarly, with gratitude. If we save all our gratitude for just one special day or a season and then let many tender moments slip by month after month without acknowledging the special people in our lives, we won’t experience the powerful and cumulative effects of gratitude. Instead, we must remember to practice gratitude regularly in order to reap all the nutrient-rich benefits to our psychological and physical health.” What are you grateful for? And who do you plan to thank today for making a positive difference in your life? https://lnkd.in/ebREJ3-U #gratitude #grateful #happytogether #buildhappytogether

*GRATITUDE* #gratitudeb #grateful #behappy Gratitude is acknowledging and appreciating who you are, what you have and the people and things around you. When you are stressed you see things differently, you tend to see all the things you lack, what is not working and all the bad things in people. When you are happy the opposite is true, your focus is different and you see and appreciate your many blessings. It's important that we practice gratitude regardless of our emotional state. It takes the contrast for us to truly appreciate anything. It takes getting sick for us to appreciate health, lack of money to appreciate abundance of it, death to appreciate life, having a bad friend to appreciate a good friend. So often times when we are healthy, we take it for granted, and indulge in unhealthy behaviours until sickness comes. But then it doesn't have to be so, you should appreciate and value your health, not only in words, but in deed. *Are your actions supporting your health?* You don't have to wait for sickness to adopt a healthy lifestyle, now that you are healthy, find out how you can maintain good health and improve on it. So what are the steps you will take beginning today to improve your health? Practice gratitude today. Start by being grateful for your good health, your family, friends, all that you have and all the good things in your life. Acknowledge them, take a step further and write them down, then ponder on them as you go about your activities for today. 🥂 Cheers to your good health and great success. 💙 Have a great week.

Look after yourself this Christmas by setting some boundaries. Remember.... Do your best - your best is good enough. It’s ok to say No - you can't do everything at once. Schedule ME time - you need to look after yourself too. You can’t please everyone - I've tried. Believe me, you just can't and that's ok. Self-care isn’t selfish - you deserve some self-care, every day. Discuss what you need - communicate with those around you so they understand what you need to get through the Christmas chaos. Decide what is important to you, set your boundaries, share with those around you and do your best. Don't forget to have a fun time this Christmas! Let me know how you're getting on below. Has this helped? Or are you already staying calm this Christmas?
