Forrester recently announced a new “Revenue Technology Supergroup,” Revenue Orchestration Platforms or “ROPs” for short. As Forrester defines it, ROPs is a “technology that enables B2B frontline resources to design, execute, capture, analyze, and improve buyer and customer engagement while optimizing productivity and internal revenue processes.“ As a revenue and operations leader here I am pumped that Clari landed in the “Leader” category. I remember being a sales leader sitting in 5 forecast calls every week (that is not a typo - 5!!) running through the same deals/information, unable to understand which deals were truly at risk so that we could take action. I remember being an SDR Director who struggled to connect our sales engagement efforts to the revenue of the business, especially when it came to outbounding. I remember being a rep who would physically join other sellers' calls because there was no other way to get visibility into what was making the best reps so successful. Engaged with a prospect in 2022, I recently received a call from the same prospect. Our last discussion ended abruptly when I pulled out of a blind S2P RFP due to unanswered questions, around pain/challenges, reason of change, why now, which i recon are basic questions. The prospect's sole focus on automation led to choosing a cheap product, resulting in increased support costs, integration issues, and a delayed go-live by 1.5 years. This experience underlines the importance of looking beyond surface-level similarities and considering the long-term effects of right technology adoption. Understanding the value and broader implications of decisions is crucial for successful outcomes. Although there was no deal then, still it's rewarding to have gained a future long-term customer. The prospect's realization was a win in the end for both of us. Remember, no problem = no solution. #Value #Adoption #ROI #Coupa
