What a great way to use the power of video. To not only tell a bit of the story of the building but also the story of the people that the building was made for. Often customers connect and remember stories more than a brand. What stories are you tell your clients?
Here's the story behind our collab with hcma and the film that brought team to tears. What did we learn from all of this? Through stories, we can communicate the real-life, human impacts of work that’s usually inaccessible to the everyday observer, transcending industry jargon and connecting with people on an emotional level. That it’s essential to follow the story. We thought this film would be about Jim’s artwork, and it was. But through getting to know Jim authentically, we discovered something much deeper — how the space for art and community helped to rebuild his life after the loss of his wife. Why it’s important to have trust with our clients. The hcma team could have totally freaked out when we said to them: “We actually DON’T want to tell a story about your buildings. We want to tell stories about the people in them.” But they didn’t. And what came out of this trust-based collaboration was inspired. Want more musings on human-first storytelling?
