CVSA inspectors will check for air brake system leaks during Brake Safety Week, so don't get caught off guard! Before hitting the road, do a quick 2-3 minute walk-around inspection. Listen for any hissing sounds. This could indicate a leak. 🧰 Signs of trouble: 👉 Your air brake system should reach operating pressure within 45 seconds. If not, there's a leak. 👉 If your brakes feel "squishy," there might be a pressure loss. 👉 A loud hiss when applying the brake means a leak in the gladhand seal or brake lines. 🔩 Quick fix: Always keep extra gladhand seals in your truck. Replacing them is easy with a flathead screwdriver: 1. Remove the old seal. 2. Clean the gladhand body. 3. Insert the new seal. Remember, prevention is key! #brakesafetyweek #truckmaintenance #trucksafety #airbrakes #cvsa #truckerslife #roadsafety #safedriving #brakemaintenance #leakprevention
