My grandmother taught school until she was 82! I have no plans to retire. I love this comment: Ageism is unfortunately pervasive in many industries, and it's disheartening to see talented individuals facing unnecessary barriers in their career pursuits. For example, my wealth of experience and expertise in aerospace niche manufacturing is undoubtedly invaluable. It's frustrating to see companies overlook the immense value one could bring to their operations simply because they prioritize factors like age and cost over skill and experience. "You get what you pay for." Companies that prioritize short-term cost savings over long-term value creation often miss out on the opportunity to benefit from the wisdom, expertise, and dedication that seasoned employees bring to the table. It's essential to advocate for those who want to continue working past retirement age in the job market. While facing rejection can be discouraging, it's crucial to remember that companies who offer the right opportunity are out there, those who recognize and appreciate the unique value experienced professionals can offer.
