🧗♀️ Climbing is rapidly becoming a very popular sport. Many enthusiasts are drawn to its close connection with nature, whether it’s sport climbing, bouldering, or free soloing. For inner-city climbing, indoor facilities come fully equipped with all the necessary gear, including harnesses, carabiners, helmets, and climbing walls. However, there's a significant sustainability concern regarding climbing holds. These holds, typically made from unsustainable materials like PU/PE, often end up discarded or incinerated at the end of their lifecycle. Marta and Manuela, co-founders of MAD, met at one of Berlin's climbing halls. They share a passion for climbing, sustainability, and innovation. Their goal is to revolutionize the climbing industry and ensure sustainability is a key part of every product's design and use in sports! Both joined MotionLab.Berlin’s Hardtech Innovation Accelerator Program with their startup, MAD. Marta explains, "With MAD, we want to reduce plastic waste. Our first focus is on sustainable climbing holds." Manuela adds, "We aim to inspire a global movement for sustainability and innovation, contributing to a healthier planet and a brighter future for generations to come." 🤔 How does it work? With over 2,650 electrified and hydrogen-powered vehicles, along with 700 electric last-mile mobility options, the city is certainly set for greener travel. With just a few taps on your mobile, you can access micro-mobility solutions, including personal battery electric vehicles and wheelchair e-pullers shuttling around the arenas and Olympic village. These innovations ensure fair access and maximise efficiency, catering to last-mile service and accessibility needs in a smarter way. And let’s not forget the long awaited #AirTaxis, soon to be flying over the Seine from a new vertiport. #ClientCaseStudy: TEQBALL, the Hungarian-founded sport, picks up global traction and kicks its game up a notch at CTPark Budapest West. ⛹️♂️ In 2021, TEQBALL came to us seeking a multifaceted solution. 📈 They needed to keep up with rapid growth. Just ten years old, this sport is already aiming to be in the Olympics, meaning the world needs more TEQBALL tables to keep up with popularity and they needed footprint expansion potential. 🧩 They sought to consolidate their operations — production, logistics and office — in one location with unique requirements like temperature controls, extra energy capacity, and additional gates and fire doors. 🗺️ The location, of course, was paramount. They needed easy commuting for employees, along with smart proximity to the city and other markets for optimised business operations. We provided a tailored answer to all these challenges at CTPark Budapest West in a 10,460 sqm facility.  ↔️ Less than two years later, we provided them with a seamless 4,000 expansion within the same building. 💚 Sustainability is integrated throughout this real estate solution. The building is certified In-Use 'Outstanding' by BREEAM and we are currently in the process of installing PV energy, while the park offers features like EV charging and a community Clubhaus.
