The revolution by Phidias, the greatest sculptor of Greek classicism, was to perfect techniques for the creation of monumental works using separate marble components assembled on site to form a single element. This ingenuity - revolutionary to say the least - inspired the architect Nicola Gallizia to design a bathroom collection by Vaselli. «Once again, I followed my creative instinct - Gallizia reveals with an oxymoron - revisiting the modern potential of the ancient masters. As always, without a careful study of the past, the present does not exist”. Creating mono-material examples by assembling individually made pieces becoming then a monolithic-looking element, where the joints between each piece become a constructive detail with a strong aesthetic connotation. It is the classic example where the form is generated by the function. By putting the experience and technical expertise that Vaselli boasts at the service of the creativity of Studio Nicola Gallizia, it has been possible to create a complete line for the bathroom, of which the bathtub is the protagonist. “Apart from the technical and aesthetic perfection – the architect points out - the added value of the collection is in terms of economy of scale since the use of single modules reduces waste, also allowing for considerable savings in transport and assembly of the single less heavy and bulky elements.” The Fidia bathtub is part of the Fidia bathroom collection.
