As we conclude an insightful three-day agenda at the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions Conference, BHC staff and employer members from Drury Hotels and Ameren are engaged in valuable workshops on Fiduciary Responsibility and PBM Contracting. We are incredibly grateful for our ongoing partnership with the National Alliance and look forward to sharing the key takeaways and best practices with the rest of our membership. Do you want to see who knows what we need to do and what is most important to fix health care? Listen to Sue Veer addressing this Committee. Hear from those who have a heart for serving most Americans most behind and are willing to sacrifice to address the next generation always ignored - and then we wonder why outcomes get worse. She was discussing 340B in about them most balanced and informative way possible. She noted how the CHC used 340 B "supports health care services that would otherwise be unavailable in many of the communities that we serve... the one that is near and dear to my heart are those early childhood services that are otherwise unfunded because we are building the health of the future generation" - Early Childhood Services - Sue Veer - More than a Hero - A leader for our nation and absolutely on target with her heart and her service and her testimony $600,000 margin lost and 0.6 FTE of labor to comply with 340 B - loss of nearly $700,000 in delivery capacity for those most in need! Did you hear this Congress, CMS, and others how you cut the lifeblood and distract the delivery team members time and time again over the past 40 years of design changes. Stop killing hospitals, practices, and delivery team members where most Americans are most behind. Start paying attention to Sue Veer and many others like her who can teach you how your designs fail and how they can work - for future generations. You do not fun health care where needed. You have forced a patchwork. Please don't kill the patches and pieces before you actually implement a plan for sufficient basic health access for 95% of the nation, not just 50 - 60%. Listen to the heart of health care delivery. Listen to those that you must fully fund who are the only ones that can be most and best for most Americans most behind.
"The stability of the 340B program is at risk and it's our patients that are suffering," Sue Veer, CEO of Carolina Health Centers, Inc., and NACHC Board Secretary, told a committee of the US House of Representatives today. Veer described the many ways that the 340B program benefits her patients. Not only do they get access to discounted medication, but 340B revenue supports healthcare services that "would otherwise be unavailable" -- like their early childhood program. NACHC is grateful to the House Energy & Commerce Committee for holding the hearing. Watch Veer's full opening statement. #HealthCenters #Save340B #ValueCHCs

Yesterday marked the conclusion of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions Annual Forum. AEHC members and staff walked away with an arsenal of knowledge and actionable insights: from fiduciary responsibilities to tackling the complexities of pharmacy benefits, it was a day filled with impactful sessions and discussions that empower employers to lead change in healthcare. Highlights from the day included: ✔️ Fiduciary Training Workshop: Attendees gained critical insights on operationalizing fiduciary duties under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, learning how data, transparency, and proactive measures can protect against litigation and ensure value-driven healthcare plans. ✔️ PBM Hub- Employer Strategies to Break the Monopolies: This exclusive session tackled the misalignment and consolidation plaguing the PBM industry. Employers explored strategies for greater transparency, contract negotiation, and value-based care, all aimed at driving down drug costs. These discussions reminded us of the power employers hold to reshape healthcare markets. We’re bringing this knowledge back to Alabama to drive transparency, better outcomes, and affordable care for all. #JoinAEHC2024 #NatAllForum #PBMStrategies #EmployerLeadership #HealthcareInnovation #FiduciaryResponsibilities
