Miconex has launched new digital gifting technology in Ireland to enable organisations to easily reward their staff with local gift cards. The technology, introduced in October, allows organisations to send digital e-cards versions of Town & City Gift Cards online to multiple recipients at once. Organisations can also choose to send their gift cards immediately or on a future date. Recipients are then able to ‘tap to pay’ with a range of local businesses including retail, hospitality, health & beauty, leisure & attractions and services. Miconex operates local Town & City Gift Card programs across Ireland in Ballinrobe, Carndonagh, Drogheda, Letterkenny, Sligo and Waterford, with new programs set to launch pre Christmas in Wexford, Tipperary, Limerick, Kilkenny and Donegal Town. Colin Munro, managing director of Miconex, said: “Ireland has a unique employee reward and incentive culture with the Irish Revenue’s Small Benefit Exemption Scheme allowing organisations to gift pay rolled employees and directors up to two small non-cash benefits each year up to a value of €1,000, increasing to €1,500 in January 2025. “Organisations in Ireland are evolving their reward and incentive strategies, putting increased focus on the 3 Cs of community support, CSR and choice for their teams. Our investment in digital gift card technology is key to our mission of making it easy for organisations to make the move to a local gift card that blends support for local with unbeatable local choice." The 'Beyond A Million' Voucher Campaign Shortlisted in the Digital Campaigns Category for National Award The Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber is shortlisted for the ‘Digital Campaign’ category in the 2024 Chambers Ireland Awards, for the ‘Beyond A Million' Voucher Campaign. The D&WW Chamber's impactful 'Beyond A Million' voucher campaign has earned recognition in the 2024 Chambers Ireland 'Digital Campaigns' category. This campaign encouraged employers, individuals, groups and organisations to support, purchase, request, and gift Dungarvan Chamber Shopping Vouchers to reach the goal of keeping more than one million euros in our local economy. The D&WW Chamber ‘Beyond A Million’ campaign was hugely successful, with sales of over €1.5 million vouchers in 2023 alone, a full half million over the target. Speaking about the initiative Chamber President Oren Byrne said “This initiative has captured good will, civic pride, and the entire community’s support. It’s a feel-good initiative. People feel a strong connection and responsibility to support their local community, the local work force, and our local economy by choosing Chamber Vouchers. For 2023, we put the faces of the business owners and staff in a lengthy promotional campaign. This built an awareness and empathy around supporting local jobs and the local economy, putting the faces of neighbours, friends, family in the minds of people when considering staff rewards, gifts, prizes etc. Associating faces, livelihoods and jobs to the shop local initiative was a powerful message that the money stays local and secures local employment and businesses. “ 150 businesses participate in this shop local initiative, collectively they employ 1000 people. Each business had a chance to attract this extra income. Chamber vouchers not only attract new customers but also stimulate higher spending. Data from the UK Gift Card & Voucher Association (GCVA) indicates that customers tend to spend more when redeeming gift vouchers compared to cash purchases alone, benefiting businesses with increased revenue, another positive impact. It’s a win, win! For more about the Chamber Shopping Vouchers see https://buff.ly/3WP6cyW #awards #business #chambers #shoplocal #localeconomy #voucher #chamberawards #dungarvan #waterford

**Gift Cards: The Secret Weapon in Your Incentive Strategy?** In the world of incentives, there's one tool that may not be getting the recognition it deserves – gift cards. As an incentive professional in the gift card industry, I've seen firsthand the power these little pieces of plastic (or digital codes!) wield. But why are they so effective? Firstly, gift cards offer unparalleled flexibility. They cater to a diverse range of interests and needs, allowing recipients to choose their own rewards. This personalization aspect significantly increases the perceived value of the incentive. Furthermore, from a logistical standpoint, gift cards streamline reward programs. They are easy to distribute, track, and manage. However, their effectiveness hinges on strategic implementation. Simply handing out gift cards without a thoughtful approach won't maximize their potential. Tailoring the selection to match recipient preferences and setting clear goals for your incentive program are critical steps. But let's spark some debate – do you believe in the power of gift cards as effective incentives? Have you found them more or less effective than other forms of rewards? Share your experiences and insights. The future of incentiving is evolving; let's navigate it wisely together. #IncentiveStrategy #GiftCards #EmployeeEngagement

Merry Christmas (in July)! If you're trying to beat the heat this weekend here are 3 ways that you can begin financial preparing for the upcoming holiday season 1. 💳Review last years holiday spending: Looking back at least year can help give you a starting point for this years spending. Be sure to reflect on how you feel about that number. In addition, think about any major life changes that have happened that could cause this years number to change (ex. new family member) 2. 💸Start setting aside funds now: I see it time and time again, consumers don't save money leading into the holiday season and end up paying off the holiday shopping come January (and even a few months after that). By setting aside funds each month leading up to the holiday season you will already have the cash set aside when that credit card bill comes in in January and you pay it off right away 3. 🛍️Start shopping early: As you see ales and deals in the months leading up to the holidays make gift purchases. This way you can space out the financial load over several months rather than packing it into a few weeks
