After the successful excitation by the impact cleats, we have now investigated the last possible excitation mechanism: 3D-printed shell elements that are bolted onto the drums to imitate the texture of a real road surface. This technique enables us to generate a stochastic excitation with a high correlation to actual road surfaces. This allows us to investigate the behavior of the chassis under realistic conditions in more detail. With these final tests, we are concluding our measurement campaign for this axle on the suspension NVH test bench, and the evaluation is now imminent.
