It was my pleasure to speak at Veralto’s Leadership Conference, in a personal capacity. We explored - how one can embed sustainability into business strategy & operations; - how to cater (or not!) to increasingly diverse stakeholder expectations, including those of global investors, and; - how there is no silver bullet to the many sustainability challenges we face, but rather a need for innovative technological solutions that therefore creates myriad business opportunities. In the dynamic landscape of today's world, the shift from VUCA to #BANI underscores the need for a new leadership perspective. BANI encapsulates the brittleness, anxiety, non-linearity and incomprehensibility that define our current reality - and really challenges leaders to embrace innovation and resilience. As we navigate the complexities of this new era, it is clear that a new way of working, collaborating and leading will become increasingly important. I had the great honour of doing this with a group of young #potentials from TenneT’s Communication and Public Affairs (PUC) department over the past two days in Arnhem, the Netherlands. It's been a safe space of shared insights, decisive thinking and collaborative problem solving. With great #appreciation for the opportunity to work with such great and sensitive colleagues, we started to co-create new strategies for our, for TenneT's leadership style of tomorrow. I can't wait to continue paving the way for resilience, adaptability and effective ways of working together in the sessions to come. Here's to harnessing our collective wisdom and resources with courage, empathy and forward-thinking solutions. Happy Earth Day! 🌍 Today I had some thoughtful and inspiring conversations with a couple of amazing leaders at BOSENCE FARM COMMUNITY LIMITED, Kate Prosser and Samantha Collins . This has led me, yet again, to draw upon the meaningful parallel between Earth Day's spirit of ecological awareness and our approaches to systemic team coaching, systemic leadership coaching and community support. Before I continue though I'd invite you to look further into the work of Bosence Farm and what they are doing, just amazing! So just as Earth Day urges us to consider our planet in every action we take, systemic coaching encourages teams to broaden their perspectives, not just to enhance performance but to weave ecological and sustainable thinking into the fabric of their daily work. This approach doesn't merely push for incremental changes; it fosters a transformative shift in how teams perceive their roles within and beyond the corporate sphere. By embedding ecological consciousness into our leadership styles, we nurture an environment where teams feel empowered to explore innovative solutions that benefit their communities, the planet and of course themselves. So to continue to elevate our impact let's asking ourselves and our teams this: What specific sustainability practices could we integrate into our daily workflows to make our team's impact on the environment more positive? Just got out of @aboard organised board conference (drivkraft styrekonferansen) and it was really refreshing to hear how much attention they put for professionalising the boardroom and that we go away from having old friends in there, to people with necessary qualities. Because I believe that external board member can give so much, from being good “sparring partner” for owners in leadership positions, to making organisation more professional. But to be fair, it’s a bit of “black hole” when it comes to knowing what skills board members need to have and what skills the board needs to have. Finances, business development, psychology? It’s even more interesting when you think about how many different technologies are integrated and used in every company and how much the boardroom knows about them.
