Check out the new Collective Wisdom Article: Designing an Effective Opening Statement Although the opening statement is taken for granted as a trial advocacy essential, the Supreme Court of the United States has implicitly stated there is no Constitutional violation if opening statements are curtailed or precluded entirely. That is remarkable, because no one questions the importance or potential efficacy of an opening. It is against this paradox that NITA offers the latest in its Collective Wisdom series. Designing an Effective Opening Statement is selection of essays by leading advocacy instructors nationwide on specific aspects of this important, but not required, trial component.

With everything still very fluid around the Corporate Transparency Act, we believe it is important to be positioned for change without distracting from those driving change.    We have added fields within our system to ensure that required information about board members or other "beneficial owners" is readily available. We've also enhanced permissions to restrict access to this information to keep board members' data safe.   We are also evaluating what we can do to automate and streamline the filing of the reports while upholding our industry-leading security standards.    However, right now, it is most important we advocate and drive awareness to those spearheading change, such as our valued industry partner, Community Associations Institute.   Please read their announcement below, where they’ve included links to resources on the law and how to support. #WeAreCAI #GetInCINC
