I'm a big believer in the critically think + communicate combo. If you know HOW to think and know HOW to communicate those thoughts... Then you are ahead of 99% of people.
Enthusiasm plays such an integral role in the success or failure you'll ultimately have in the career path you choose to take. I've always heard that if the passion and/or compensation isn't there... you will eventually grow tired of that job or career, and move in a different direction.
