The only way to holistically and deeply learn about something is to see the same dynamic, principle, factor in many settings. If you are stuck in one context (or a narrow sliver within a narrow context that creates an "echo chamber" or "silo") then you are robbing yourself of more vibrant and bolder understandings. As someone who deeply appreciates "meta-principles" (concepts/values that can be applied across many different disciplines) it makes sense to view the same principle in action within completely different settings. It doesn't just widen knowledge, but deepens it as well. One great motivation for learning a second language is to improve understanding of your own language by wrestling with the same concepts in a different setting/language. Break down the siloes. Get rid of the labels and tags. Evaluate ideas solely on the idea's merit, not their origin. "Words matter because they express Ideas.
