Today, Thursday 12th September, is International #RUOK Day—a vital reminder to check in on the people around us. At Jungheinrich New Zealand, our core values—being open, active, efficient, and caring—shape not only how we work but how we support each other. Asking "Are you OK?" goes beyond ticking a box. It's about genuinely connecting with our colleagues, mates, and family. We understand it can be hard to start these conversations, especially in the workplace, but it’s an important part of fostering a caring environment. The R U OK? Foundation has put together a helpful guide to make asking that simple but powerful question easier. At Jungheinrich, we believe in being open and active in our care for one another. Let’s take the time to ask, listen, and make a real difference in the lives of those around us. #JungheinrichAustralia #Wecare #Mentalhealth #Workplace #Wellbeing #Teamwork #theyellowway

I’ve worked at companies with both generous "party budgets" and others with absolutely none. In one workplace, we had to pay for our own "get-togethers," even though we had no say in how much we pay or what we do, and were told to just "pay." I always thought "Why have a mandatory or coercive event?! It makes the morale go down"... but I think it's because most people believe in the power of team bonding. Here’s my take on social events: they’re a valuable investment that won’t break the bank 🎉. I think the organization wins greatly by setting aside some budget, whether it be just for bagels and coffee or a large party; I personally think the amount doesn't matter. It's about the corporate culture demonstrating that management values these interactions. Events at work aren’t just a fun escape from the daily routine. They’re essential for building stronger connections, sparking creativity, and enhancing collaboration. When colleagues feel comfortable around each other, fresh ideas start flowing, and trust grows. For someone new like me, these events help me get to know others and figure out how best to collaborate. A little fun and laughter can significantly boost morale and make the workplace feel more energized and united! I am so happy to be part of a family that shares these values 😍

#Climate change is already having serious impacts on the #safety and #health of workers in all regions of the world. #Workers are among those most exposed to climate change hazards yet frequently have no choice but to continue working, even if conditions are dangerous. #Global occupational safety and health (OSH) protections have struggled to keep up with the evolving risks from climate change, resulting in worker mortality and morbidity. reference- #ILO #Celebrating world day for safety and health 2024 with the theme of 'Ensuring safe and healthy work now in a changing climate' at my workplace to make an impactful awareness among my staff and colleagues for a #sustainable approach while working.

What would you do with 2 extra days off if you had to use them pursuing outdoor activities? How cool would that be ? REI provides 2 days those to “engaging in their favorite outdoor activity or helping create access to inspirational places through stewardship,” They call them Yay days and their employees just fill out a coupon sharing how they are using their 2 days. It ties to the companies commitment of helping people embark on adventures in the outdoors. It is another great example of companies stepping up to support team members in unique ways. Do you know anyone that works at REI that has used their Yay days in a unique adventure. Does your employee do something unique like this their employees? What would you do with 2 days to strictly pursue outdoor pursuits ? 🌲🏞 #OutdoorAdventures #EmployeeBenefits #CompanyCulture

Today, May 17, marks #NationalBiketoWorkDay, and with many of our Bunters opting for a bike commute to work today (and most work days), it was no challenge getting a few action shots for the day that’s in it. 🚲 National Bike to Work Day is celebrated annually on the third Friday each May to promote sustainable commutes, physical and mental wellness, and the strengthening of community connections. At Bunt & Associates, we're strong believers in active transportation! Building sustainable communities is part of our DNA, and it’s one of the reasons that our #ActiveTransportation Practice is growing and our projects are catching lots of attention. Active Modes / Mobility is finding ways to incorporate physical activity into our commutes and movement, whether it be walking, cycling, scooters or other forms. Even public transport that requires us to get to stops and stations can be counted. As the weather warms up and our days get longer, we challenge you to look for ways to incorporate active transport into your schedule – you’ll be glad you did! 🚶♀️🏃♂️🚴♀️ ◾ More on our active transportation projects here: https://lnkd.in/gfauTpUz ◾ And our latest Bunt Bit for National Bike to Work Day: https://lnkd.in/gUSKrAch

Did you know, May is National Walking Month? The month promotes walking as a sustainable and healthy mode of transportation, encouraging people to explore their surroundings on foot 🚶♀️ 🚶♂️ Like many of us who work in the City or West End, commuting via tube or bus is our easiest option. But as the days get longer and lighter, perhaps increasing our step isn’t going to be as difficult as it seems Here are a few things that we’re going to try out, this National Walking Month... ➡️ Include walking in your daily commute - We appreciate walking all the way to work could potentially take hours for some, so if we’re getting the train or bus, why not hop off a few stops away, and walk the rest of the journey. ➡️ A walking lunch – Now the temperature outside is gradually getting warmer, now is the perfect time to venture outside during your lunch break. It’s amazing how many steps you can get in just one hour whilst taking in the local sights. ➡️ Meetings on the go – If It’s practical to do, walking and talking can sometimes help us think so much more clearly. Whether it’s inside the building or out in the fresh air, a small team meeting on foot could do wonders. We would love to hear how you get on... Happy walking, everyone! #nationalwalkingmonth #wellbeing #workplacewellbeing
