Had the pleasure of presenting at the Engineers in Action Conference. I spoke to an incredible group of students, faculty, and industry professionals about a topic that's close to my heart: human connection. The construction industry faces unique challenges, but I believe the H2H (Human-to-Human) connection can solve some of the most pressing issues we encounter. Focusing on our people is how we transform this industry into something more connected and people-focused. Here’s what I shared with the audience: When we make human connection a priority, we don’t just meet deadlines and deliver results. We build a culture that: Boosts collaboration, making work smoother. Creates trust, which leads to stronger partnerships and projects. Trust is the foundation of every project. Collaboration brings the best ideas to life. Empathy helps us navigate challenges and setbacks with resilience. The real takeaway? Our greatest resource is each other. So, how do we apply this? It’s simple—listen more, understand better, and support one another.
