Unlike fixed-price sales, auctions allow you to set your budget and bid accordingly. This dynamic pricing model can lead to significant savings, especially if you have a keen eye for value and a good understanding of the wine market. #winemarket #onlineauction #oppertunities #exclusivewines

This graphic highlights the importance of diversification across the key regions we focus on to capitalise on the trends in the fine wine market. We recommend a 3 to 5 year hold because wine appreciates gradually in value, most of the action when it hits the drinking windows, so this is an excellent snap shot. With Q1 2024 now behind us, and ahead of the release of our Quarterly Report in the coming days, we've taken a look at how the regional fine wine trade volumes have changed by week so far this year. > #bordeaux has remained the top region across weekly trading throughout Q1 > #burgundy has fluctuated the most, but has peaked recently in March > #tuscany has, for the majority, placed third in the regional listings, showing the continued popularity of #italianwines > #champagne has moved between 6.8% and 11.4% of share throughout the quarter > #USA wines from the #napavalley peaked in February around the releases of the 2021 Screaming Eagle. Keep an eye out for our Quarterly Report which has much more detail on both regional trends and which wines have outperformed the market in Q1. #finewine #marketinsights #alternativeassets #investments

In the ever-evolving world of #wine and #whisky, 2023 brought some interesting developments. If you haven’t already, I recommend reading the Sotheby's Annual Wine and Spirits Market Report for 2023. Here’s some interesting insights from the report: ◾ Worldwide auction sales reached a new high for the third year in a row, achieving $159 million overall and $100 million in single owner sales for the first time ◾ For the first time in 10 years, US bidders were the strongest bidders in wine auctions, while Asia remained the leading market, with 42% of market share ◾ The spirits category saw a record $33 million in 2023, with a record sale of The Macallan 1926 for $2.7 million and 19 Scotch distillery records in one auction alone Cheers to the year ahead! Nice graphical representation of how weekly trade volume has changed in Q1 2024 in the #finewine world. #bordeaux has been the dominant region so far this year, as buyers flock to pick up the perceived value from buying key vintages from 'safe haven' chateau. Recent releases of #supertuscans helped propel Tuscany to a solid 3rd in the rankings for the most part, whilst traditional regions such as #burgundy and #champagne have fluctuated. #alternativeassets #datavisualisation #wineinsights

Columbia Valley 2021 vintage report 🍇 In the Columbia Valley, 2021 was a vintage that shattered heat records, and saw very low yields. Despite the challenges, there were some fantastic wines made in the under $50 category, one that can be elusive for fine wine regions in the US. Clive Pursehouse reports... https://lnkd.in/edE5_W2N

THE BEST CHAMPAGNE PRODUCERS British produce the best wine publications, e.g Decanter. Great Britain is one of the most enthusiastic champagne consumer of the world after the USA. The proximity of the United Kingdom to France and history contribute to the popularity of wine among other beverages. British have a long history with alcohol and still continue to indulge although the government has gradually increased taxes to discourage consumption. Drinks International, a widely read and influential magazine recently published a list of the best champagne producers. Champagne still outsells all other sparkling wine categories closely followed by prosecco from Italy that is much less expensive than champagne. Before the 1917 Revolution the Russian elite used to drink a lot of champagne, and many champagne producers got rich supplying the Russian market. Ontario is now a big player in sparkling consumption and production. Some Ontario sprinkling wines are very impressive in quality, and sell for much less than comparable products. The ere are more 4000 champagne producers in Champagne. Here are the best: Roederer Ayala Charles Heidsieck Heidsieck Monopole Piper Heidsieck Alfred Gratien Dom Perignon Ruinart Lanson Jacquesson Deutz Perrier et Jouet Rare Krug Philliponat Lauent Perrier Veuve Cliquot Veuve Fourney Henriot Bollinger Billecart et Salmon Terlant Lallier Pommery Moet et Chandon Drappier Bruno Paillard Delas Grosset

A white wine with annualised returns of 20-40% The Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is considered one of the greatest white wine lables on the planet. It costed closer to £1000 a bottle just 10 years a go. Today a bottle costs £10,000-30,000, depending on the vintage. According to our data there are currently a grand total of 4 bottles for sale on the UK open market. Of any vintage. “Rare” doesnt quite cut it. 🍇 The producer, Domaine d'Auvenay is rumoured to produce “just 10,000 bottles” annually according to IG WINES. 🍇 The domaine consists of under four hectares, spread over sixteen different appellations. 🍇 The annualised return of these wines over the last 7 years is 20-40% depending on the vintage. Truly remarkable. Can this kind of price appreciation continue? At WineFi 🍷 our take is that wine portfolios are best when diversified across price ranges. Capturing both ends of the investment-grade wine market, the up-and-comers and the legends, of which d'Auvenay is certainly one.
