WHAT A DISGRACE WHEN LOOKING FOR A JOB!!!!
This is address to CEO, Hotel directors and HR Managers and Talent acquisition Manager. What do you have to do when looking for a job in the Hospitality, Tourism and Hotel Management industry????
I understand I live in Spain (Barcelona), a country 20 years behind top countries like The UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria or Scandinavian countries, but it is not possible that it is so difficult to find a job like me, a professional with 25 years experience, speaking 5 languages and skilful in Customer Services, Management and Sales. It is outrageous when you see companies giving jobs to people from another countries like Colombia, Venezuela, Philippines or Marroc instead to Spanish people. I am not surprise our talent decide to go to other European countries like The UK, Germany or Switzerland.
In my case it must be because of the following things:
1. My age: Well if it is for this reason, is disgusting because you have to pick up the best in skills, competences and experience.
2. Overqualified: Absurd, because if I applied for Hotel receptionist with my profile, any serious company would like to have a professional like me thinking in the big picture in order to have person who could be a future manager.
3. My last job was a Taxi driver: What a honour to do a job where not many people wanted to do but I enjoyed a lot, delivering excellent customer service, increasing sales all the time and practising the languages I learned for 25 years abroad.
So I challenge companies to contact me by phone, email or virtual in order to have an interview. I am sure you do not have somebody with my skills having living in 4 countries and speaking 5 languages.
Think about it and let's talk about this matter, I am curious about your comments! Do not be shy!!!
