The Gymnast's Extended-Set Back Routine. This workout inspired by Charles Poliquin is designed for experienced trainees and is based on the conditioning routines used by Olympic gymnasts to strengthen their backs. To try this routine, you must be able to perform 12 strict shoulder-width supinated chin-ups. A1. Wide-Grip Pull-ups: as many reps as possible Rest 10 seconds A2. Medium-Grip Pull-ups: as many reps as possible Rest 10 seconds A3. Here are some fun efficiency drills to make your rope climbs easier and more effective. Master these techniques, and you’ll breeze through those workouts with confidence! 1. Seated Rope Hook Practise what your feet need to do as soon as you jump up on the rope. Speeding up that hook and transitioning into the next move without overthinking will save your arms and boost your efficiency. 2. Hanging Knees to Chest Focus on getting your knees up to your elbows. This increases your leverage, allowing you to gain more height with each hook and stand. Aim to conquer the rope climb with just two hooks per climb. 3. Jump, Hook & Stand Combine two movements by jumping up the rope, hooking your feet in the right position quickly, and standing. The added speed and body weight pressure make the movement more effective, ensuring your technique is spot on. These drills, when practised together, will significantly improve your rope climbing efficiency.
