The Gymnast's Extended-Set Back Routine. This workout inspired by Charles Poliquin is designed for experienced trainees and is based on the conditioning routines used by Olympic gymnasts to strengthen their backs. To try this routine, you must be able to perform 12 strict shoulder-width supinated chin-ups. A1. Wide-Grip Pull-ups: as many reps as possible Rest 10 seconds A2. Medium-Grip Pull-ups: as many reps as possible Rest 10 seconds A3.
