Every year, billions of MALE CHICKS are unnecessarily hatched and disposed of, causing animal welfare concerns and costing the industry billions of dollars. eggXYt's technology has the potential to save billions of chicks annually, reduce waste, and generate substantial cost savings. This investment comes nearly three years after the leading Japanese food producer, Ajinomoto, invested in SuperMeat, an Israeli start-up engaged in development and production of cultivated CHICKEN meat. Cultivated meat is lab-grown meat produced in a bioreactor from cells harvested from a living animal. While it sounds made-up, it's very real. Our first question: Is cultivated meat made with GMOs? It depends. Despite over $3 billion invested in the cultivated meat industry over the past decade, technical limitations have kept cost-effective and environmentally-friendly products largely out of reach. 🇸🇰 2 countries, 2 corporate groups, at one table 🇭🇺 We established the Innovative Farmer Club in Hungary several years ago, where the aim is for farmers to learn from each other, with the help of data stored in AgroVIR. We're delighted that we can now address the biggest players in this field, as the leaders of EXATA GROUP, a.s. and Bonafarm Csoport recently visited us to compare the operations of the corporate groups based on production agronomy and financial aspects. They were ready to show their data stored in AgroVIR, analyses, and best practices. Discussions included experiences in agrotechnology, input material usage, costs, and pricing. It is important to emphasize that these are not one-time meetings; here a long-term collaboration has begun. Initially, we strive to make the data of the two companies comparable. Then, the more often we meet, the deeper the analyses we can conduct. We believe that such level of collaboration, as well as sharing data, contributes to our partners remaining competitive even under changing circumstances. Big win for farmers and the environment! 🙌 Members of the European Parliament have just backed rules for new breeding tools that pave the way for more resilient and sustainable agriculture! 🌍 🚜 What does this mean? 🤔 Some plants grown using New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) will be equivalent to normal plants. They will face less red tape, and farmers can take advantage of their benefits faster: 🌡 Climate-resilient 🐛 Pest-resistant 🔝 High-yields 🧪 Require fewer chemicals. How will this affect farmers and consumers? 🏷️ Labelling and a public online list of NGT plants. ✅ Stricter rules will be in place for some NGT plants to ensure safety. 🔓 Ban on all patents on NGT plants to safeguard farmers’ access to diverse plant material.
