6 years ago, I met a street perfumer that started creating his first perfume back in 1994. For 20 years, and thousands of formulas later, he created a fragrance that he bet “everyone would love”. He said it’s a shame that no one values his creation because Indonesia is not ready to pay respect to local's creation. And what he did? He was putting this formula into a bottle of designer brand bottle. yes it was not legal. but he did that just so that he can sell it with a higher price and make the selling price economically viable. I met him back in 2018, in my journey finding the first formula for the soon to be my fragrance brand, I talked to him for hours, until he was confident enough with my plan as he mentioned.. “Indonesia needs someone like you. Young ambitious people who can tell the story. Please make Indonesian brand shines.." That was the day when I took the challenge. I promised him to make this product the best in the industry as long as he trusts me. He gave us that one sample exclusively. We upgrade the formula to be up to the IFRA standard. And that formula now is known as HMNS “Alpha”, meaning as the first of everything. That single formula ended up kickstarting the brand that we now know as HMNS. And it’s currently, and has been, the best seller of HMNS. The only fragrance brand in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia this year. I believe every fragrance is an artpiece that within itself, lies a story that makes it special. That's why this time, I don't put the badge on myself.
