💡 The Rising Role of Executive Assistants in IR and BD Teams 💡 Have you noticed how many executive assistant roles are popping up on investor relations and business development teams? It’s something we’ve been seeing a lot of lately, and I think it says a lot about how these teams are evolving. EAs in IR and BD do so much more than manage calendars and emails—they’re key players in keeping these high-pressure, fast-moving teams running smoothly. From coordinating investor meetings to tracking deal flow, these roles often sit right at the intersection of organization and strategy. For candidates, it’s an exciting opportunity to get closer to the action and make a real impact. For employers, finding the right EA—someone who understands the unique demands of IR and BD—is more important than ever. If you’re hiring or thinking about making a move into one of these roles, I’d love to share insights or chat about what we’re seeing in the market. What are your thoughts? Is this a trend you’ve been noticing too? #executiveassistants #investorrelations #businessdevelopment #hiringtrends #privateequity #alternativeinvestment #recruiting Helena Bailey Katie Lifanda Ben Pickering Rose Bertie Rose Karlin Karis Chambers

The Strategic Power of a Seasoned Executive Assistant" Over 15 years supporting C-suite executives and senior management have taught me that an Executive Assistant (EA) is far more than a supportive role—it's a strategic partnership at the highest level. EAs today don’t just manage schedules or screen calls; we are essential navigators who provide insight, foresight, and adaptability, often at a moment’s notice. The best EAs are those who operate as the "right hand" of leaders, not only managing the tactical but influencing the strategic as well. In today’s business world, an experienced EA drives efficiency and focus, becoming an invaluable extension of leadership. From managing complex projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and handling high-stakes tasks to creating seamless communication, EAs shape how leaders and teams work and succeed together. High emotional intelligence, discretion, and technology expertise allow seasoned EAs to bring an element of strategic thought and foresight, anticipating needs and mitigating risks before they arise. An experienced EA is a critical link that upholds company culture, ensures operational fluidity, and allows leaders the freedom to focus on what matters most. As companies continue to evolve, the role of the EA has only become more crucial, bridging gaps in a hybrid world and often acting as the "office Google"—a reliable, knowledgeable resource for all. The results may seem seamless, but the work behind the scenes is anything but simple. For anyone looking to bring order, insight, and a proactive edge to leadership, a career as an EA is where skill meets strategy. #ExecutiveAssistant #StrategicSupport #LeadershipSupport #RightHand #CareerInsights #ExecutivePresence #CLevelSupport #EACareer #WorkplaceCulture #ProfessionalGrowth #LeadershipSkills #BusinessStrategy #ImpactfulWork #OfficeManagement #BehindTheScenesLeadership

Find someone to Mentor... Recently, my friend Aidah Agwang talked about being intentional about getting a Mentor, a Coach, and a Sponsor. I asked her to consider finding someone to Mentor as well because I believe, it is so important for leaders. Here's why; 👌🏻You get to help someone navigate life and work experiences with ease. There are things I can do with a snap of my fingers, but someone out there is struggling with them- thinking the world will end if they do not get it right. As a seasoned professional, you get to say, "Here is the path; follow it or try this." My mentor, Kate Coleman, is my all-time hero. I remember when I was struggling to start my firm, and I was telling myself I needed a thousand degrees and certifications, and she looked at me and said...." you actually do not need all that. You have what it takes." Now, I get to do that for others as well. 👌🏻Challenge your thinking and your methods. Each time I mentor a new person, I am forced to rethink certain things, and in some of the mentorship meetings, I get challenged by how they think. Working with Gen Zs will keep you on your toes. My mentorship relationships with amazing rising stars like Peter Segawa and other students at Miscio are game changers. 👌🏻You keep your passion burning. For me, these sessions are my way of serving the world and helping other leaders grow and live their best lives. When I see people like Lorna Charity Ayaa, Jolene Namukoko, Msc, and the rest happy and thriving, I pat myself on the back for the small part I played in certain seasons of their lives. I appreciate leaders like Ben Owilli Oyunu, who continuously send team members my way. Oh, please join in and come or send people my way. I live for these moments.
