DPM&FM Ayman Safadi in an interview with Morning Joe, at MSNBC, today: - We need to focus on the real issue, which is the ongoing war on #Gaza, the absence of political horizons for peace, and immediately create a credible, irreversible path towards solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. - Netanyahu shouldn’t be allowed to impose his agenda of war on all of us. - The #two_state solution is the only answer to the conflict. - We will never allow Israel or Iran to turn #Jordan into a battleground, and we will defend our sovereignty and the safety of our people.

Since April 2023, as many as 150,000 people have been killed in the Sudan's ongoing civil war, and some 10 million have been forced from their homes, according to the United Nations—making it the largest displacement crisis in the world. With no end to fighting in sight, Sudan is teetering on the edge of a famine that could kill hundreds of thousands, and it is facing a potential genocide that international aid agencies say may already be happening. Since the war erupted, Sudan has been closed to most international journalists—until now. Wall Street Journal journalists accompanied by Sudanese army officials traveled to the front lines of the fight. I think Scott Ritter has here a valid point about the most likely outcome of the Israeli-Hamas war: the IDF is unprepared to fight a war against groups using unconventional tactics. It is very likely that this war will make implode Israel through a civil war between anti-zionists and Zionists. What will be left from Israel, if anything, is open to debate, if Isreal will not immediately agree in ceasefires, recognition of the apartheid regime established, the occupation and theft of land and finally peace-negotiations to rebuild Palestine together (with or without a new type of Israel). It is a long video, but worth thinking about.

Who benefits from the Middle East war? Not ordinary Israeli citizens or Palestinians. The US military and the IDF and their backers, the arms dealers/ manufacturers make huge, obscene profits, they are the beneficiaries of war. In fact arms dealers across the world, the merchants of death, are making mega profits. Millions die in conflicts or starve due to famine in poorly resourced refugee camps unnecessarily, whilst military elites and arms dealers prosper in the lap of luxury. The Middle East crisis could be solved tomorrow if the USA stopped pretending it’s an independent arbiter and allowed the UN to carry out its recommendation over many years for a two state solution. All the USA has to do is two things. Firstly stop blocking at the Security Council for a Palestinian state and secondly stop providing Israel with weapons. The support for the UN in setting up a new state for Palestine asap is overwhelming. Over 140 nations support the recognition of Palestine as a state. https://lnkd.in/ghAczuFj?

Iraq 20 Years After the Invasion: The Impact of Conflict, Displacement, and Climate Challenges In March 2003, Iraq witnessed a US-led invasion, which withdrew in 2011, resulting in the deaths of nearly half a million Iraqis, the displacement of at least 9.2 million people, and more than 4.7 million people experiencing moderate or severe hunger. Over the past two decades, Iraq has continued to experience forced displacement and a humanitarian crisis. Some 1.2 million people inside Iraq are internally displaced, with little hope of returning to their homes safely. War not only leaves its mark on nations and peoples but also on the environment and regional stability. We must all work to stop the cycle of violence and move towards peaceful solutions that achieve justice and stability. https://lnkd.in/dZbPsqWG

This is an article from 2017 which again becomes relevant. Excerpts The problem, however, is that the situation is never as black and white as it's made out to be by the mainstream media. The point here isn't to whitewash what might eventually turn out to be proven is the Tatmadaw's excessive and disproportionate counterinsurgency operations against civilians, but to draw attention to how the overall conflict momentum is being guided in the direction of an externally provoked identity-centric hybrid war through a coordinated and one-sided information campaign. This is aimed most immediately at demonizing the Myanmarese state while deflecting attention away from the attacks of Rohingya "rebels," which contributed to the rapidly deteriorating military and humanitarian situation.
