Each enterprise that has ever existed were derived from hordes. Little League and Junior League baseball leagues throughout the world are held in trust by the NCAA. So, too, are Junior League softball leagues, Junior League soccer, football, and rugby teams, Junior League basketball teams, and Cornhole Leagues. Freestyle Basketball Leagues are held in trust by the NBA, Junior League Hockey teams are held in trust by the NCAA, Junior League golf programs are held in trust by the PGA, and Junior League Racing Circuits are held in trust by the NFL. Corporations, credit unions, and brokerage firms were born of enterprises. So, too, were guilds, unions, and professional associations. Hospitals and universities were conceived through guilds. Sons and daughters of Christendom would be wise to abandon institutions derrived from hordes altogether. 🏈 College football is in full swing, this past week revealed two promising contenders for the playoffs. Texas looks as good as advertised and Tennessee is even better than expected: Texas dominated Michigan 31-12 at the Big House, while Tennessee crushed NC State 51-10. With these performances, both teams solidify their top-10 rankings. 🔍 This week, Tennessee faces Kent State before a pivotal showdown against #15 Oklahoma. Tennessee, currently a 2.5-point favorite, will be tested in Norman, especially after Oklahoma’s close win over Houston. ⚔️ Our spotlight game this week is the 80th meeting between Virginia and Maryland at Scott Stadium. Maryland leads the series 44-32-2, but Virginia has won 15 of the last 22 matchups since 1991. Last year's game saw Maryland rally from a 14-point deficit for a 42-14 win, thanks to Taulia Tagovailoa's impressive performance. 🏆 Virginia, currently 2-0, is showing early promise with notable wins over Wake Forest and Richmond. The first 12-team College Football Playoff is almost here, and there is already a lot of controversy! Strength of schedule over record? Best teams over most deserving? Right now, I’d say there are 4 legit Big Ten teams in the mix, but the SEC, you could easily make the case for 6 SEC teams being playoff-bound, based on the strength of their schedules. Who really wants to play in the SEC Championship Game? It’s an extra game, with more wear and tear and the risk of dropping a third game and missing the playoff. The runner-up deserves an automatic bid, given how tough the conference is this year. With the playoff probably expanding to 14 teams in 2026, I think this will happen eventually. #sec #cfb #cfbplayoff #besttimeofyear
