This heartwarming short film, created by Alexander Dietrich, Johannes Flick, and producer Mareike Keller, is a testament to the power of teamwork, resourcefulness, and technology. The team crafted a relatable tale of daily frustrations and kindness on a train ride. Initially planned with physical props, COVID-19 restrictions led the team to pivot to full CG, achieving their signature lo-fi aesthetic with an all-digital workflow. ✨ Key Highlights:  Innovative Character Design: Mini, the protagonist, features wire hair, clay head, and fabric textures modeled entirely in Cinema 4D.  Seamless Animations: Redshift enabled real-time rendering with stunning reflections and shadows, elevating the film’s visual quality.  Creative Shortcuts: Using tools like Cinema 4D’s Hair system and Volume feature, the team embraced “imperfections” to achieve a vibrant, whimsical style.  Now wowing audiences at global festivals, this project reminds us to trust our instincts, experiment boldly, and push creative boundaries. 🎥 Inspired by this story? Snippets of our first-ever LAUNDRY AI Animation VJ set for the OFFF 2024. This is where staying curious about technology & friends' art can benefit. When I first agreed, I miscalculated what 90 minutes of projections would take. Renders just wouldn't play that long. Nor did I really have time to make that much content. I also had no idea how to create synchronized content not knowing the DJ's tempo. However, the lifesaver was my curiosity over the past months leading me to VJ software that at a basic level, plays loops. Pair that with mid-journey & Runway AI, I more realistically had a base of clips that played, varied up the visuals, and made speeds adjustable as needed. Don't get it twisted, I was still stressed and white-knuckled the shit out of trying to do this. But my friend Tina pointed out, this is what we are supposed to do as creatives, put ourselves in uncomfortable positions to do something new. It was worth it for the experience alone even if it was a bit rough.
