I just read this fantastic article from Mark Ritson explaining how Marks and Spencer found success in growing their business through marketing. Mark includes a smorgasboard of best practice brand marketing alongside a healthy dose of common sense and learning from the brand’s past successes. TLDR; 🥊 marketers need to understand their brand’s appeal to effectively communicate it to their customers. ✈️ your best and most effective ad from 10 years ago is probably your best ad today. Yes update and improve your creative but you can successfully rejuvenate killer campaigns from the past. 🎯set your brand’s positioning, understand it completely and stick to it, but also don’t be afraid to rejuvinate/modernise the brand within this positioning. 📈if you want to grow, you need to have excess (and ideally more effective) share of voice. Excess SOV is having a greater share of spend than your current market share. Effective share of voice is about having better creative quality than your competitors Loved this Mark. https://lnkd.in/g2pxkuRr

#M&S has changed a lot in recent years. Marketing wise and as part of this product-wise. Marketers have been involved in product selection which has resulted in some great new ranges. I’ve bought a number of items this winter and last, having found nothing I liked for years. I may be in my 50s but I don’t want to dress in old fashioned slacks and cardis. The new marketing team is doing a great job helping to turn M&S around from a substantial loss a few years ago to a thriving business again. #marketing #retail #invest

When it comes to promotional merchandise, custom T-shirts are a popular choice. Their versatility and universal appeal make them an easy go-to for businesses looking to boost brand visibility.
