普通朋友: REGULAR FRIENDS" by Matt-Q https://lnkd.in/dUiwBnKg 🎵 "普通朋友: REGULAR FRIENDS" by Matt-Q explores the painful realization that sometimes, when certain lines are crossed in relationships—particularly those involving trust, integrity, motivations, and respect—it's impossible to maintain a meaningful friendship. When the foundation of mutual confidence and trust is shattered, what remains are just fragments of what once was. The bond that held two people together becomes weak, and the once-close connection dissolves into a mere acquaintance, or at best, a "regular friend." The song reflects on this difficult truth, highlighting the fragility of relationships and the importance of trust and integrity as the bedrock of any genuine friendship. "普通朋友: REGULAR FRIENDS" is a reminder that not all relationships can withstand the test of broken trust and that sometimes, it’s better to acknowledge the change and move on, rather than holding onto something that no longer exists. 👉 Listen to my song "普通朋友: REGULAR FRIENDS" and reflect on the importance of trust, respect, and integrity in all relationships. 🔔 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more songs that resonate with the realities of life and relationships.

A blast from the past. Haven't attempted to play this song in over 3 years. Embarrassed to admit that I've completely forgotten how to play it. Watching this three years later, I feel like someone else is playing it. Hard to believe those are my fingers making those chords! Three insights from re-watching this old recording of me. Insight #1: Why haven't I tried playing this lovely song again? Pretty sure because I enjoyed the challenge of learning it more than maintaining my proficiency at playing it? Indeed, I have the (bad?) habit of learning to play a song, then moving on to the next song. Upon reflection, it is much like my career; I enjoyed improving factories more than maintaining them, a flaw or a strength, depending on one's point of view/position. Insight #2: If you don't continue practicing and honing your craft, you lose a step (to abuse a sports metaphor). Same with conducting training (in both languages) - back when I was doing daily seminars for extended periods of time, I was polished and on my game. Haven't done a seminar in over six years, so I've no doubt lost a step on that front. That said, it's also like riding a bike; you don't completely forget how to do it, but you still have to re-strengthen your muscles and re-build your stamina. Insight #3: Billy Joel is a damn good songwriter, and his vocals are outstanding. (This was/is a tough song to sing; I did my best with the vocal-limitations I've been dealt. ;) I might re-learn this tune someday, but for now, I've got other fish to fry! 😎
