We had a visit from Dr. Martin Alm, ex-president of the WRO (World Renderers Organization) and Technical Director of EFPRA. EFPRA represents the European animal by-product industry. It works on behalf of national associations and rendering companies to ensure the role and service of the rendering industry is understood by policy-makers, related industries and the general public. Thanks Martin, we learned a lot! https://lnkd.in/dnvsS8ku

Three years ago, we partnered with the Cabinet Office to produce a video crafted to explain the potential of our AI lameness detection software. It showcased our mission to revolutionise dairy farming with artificial intelligence designed to improve animal welfare, reduce the environmental footprint of dairy farming and create more efficient, more profitable farm businesses. If you have a moment, check out the video again https://lnkd.in/eSH5jaki It highlights the early days of our journey, when we were piloting our technology on farms in the UK and the USA, collaborating with retailers, and participating in the UK Tech Nation Applied AI Accelerator. Fast forward to today, now more than 150,000 cattle are being monitored around the globe [more on that here https://lnkd.in/eP-Nxxnb], but our commitment to innovation and sustainability remains the same. As we reflect on this moment, we’re proud of the strides we’ve made since then and grateful for the opportunity to be part of a drive toward smarter, greener farming. If you’d like a reminder of how AI can transform agriculture, and especially if you were among the folks we spoke to at EuroTier and AgriScot this week, please take a few minutes to watch. For us, it’s a nice reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we can go. #AIInAgriculture #SustainableFarming #AnimalWelfare #ArtificialIntelligence #FarmInnovation #AgriTech #DairyFarming #FutureOfFarming

The second panel focus is on the transition to animal-free innovation and leads to an interesting discussion. For a transition we need more than a technological push, we need to break down existing structures, says Janneke Hogervorst. And technological aspects and societal issues are defining the research questions we ask and the choices we make for the best models, according to Roger Adan. And Sue Gibbs mentions, that for researchers, after lifelong working with animal methods, transition is very difficult. Some researchers want to change, but don't know how. #3RsandNAMs #conference #animalfree TPI Utrecht 3Rs Centre Utrecht Nationaal Comité advies dierproevenbeleid (NCad)

𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 - 𝟮𝟭 𝗠𝗔𝗬 Where does our food come from? How do animals live? How do they die? How is any of this decided - and by whom? We're often sold an idea that in the EU there 'is no intensive farming', or that there is inherently a 'high level of animal welfare' ensured across the Union. We're also told that all decision-making follows high levels of transparency and open debate. IS. THAT. TRUE? We've hired a cinema in the heart of Brussels to host a screening of the groundbreaking, dramatic exposé 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩, a new film by Giulia Innocenzi and Pablo D'Ambrosi (https://lnkd.in/eAuxz9FV) 📽 With the use of secret cameras and some brilliant acting, journalists infiltrate not only a number of Europe's factory farms, but also - more importantly - the EU's decision-making body the European Parliament to see how some of our elected representatives feel about both the welfare of animals and the wishes of the vast majority of Europeans. Registration link to come soon - stay tuned! 📌 Cinema Galeries, Brussels 📅 21 May ⌚ 17:30 - 21:00 P.s. If you're not sure about who to vote for in the upcoming #EUelections2024, check out these new scoreboards to see your MEPs' voting records on climate, nature and pollution legislation over the last five years 👀 ➡ https://lnkd.in/dxyY76uH #FoodForProfit #AnimalWelfare #FactoryFarming #BigAgriLobby
