Team India, you know you are doing Magic when critics float conspiracy theories, explain that the success is due to preferential treatment... The fact is that they cannot explain how this team is so consistent! When Inzamam alleged ball tempering, what it conveyed was that he could not fathom how Arshdeep could get the ball to reverse swing. When experts from other countries alleged preferential treatment, they were actually looking for a reason to explain this dominance. When they said that the pitch favours India, be it SLOW pitch favouring spinners SEAMING pitch favouring seamers FLAT pitch favouring batsman, what they really meant was that we have mastered all conditions and are no more require slow wickets to win. That Team India has players that excel in all types of condition. I am not sure if I have ever enjoyed watching bowling so much as I did watching Bumrah. Phenomenal performance! Congrats India and well played South Africa. #INDvSA #TeamIndia #T20WorldCup #WCFinal

The crystal balling of sport and predictions of the demise of some institutions and sports - like the Olympics and Test cricket - have been as wrong as polls predicting the outcome of democratic elections. The way stories are consumed, the platforms they are consumed on, and the type of story telling has changed, but sport continues to thrive globally. Nothing can replace the real life personalities and drama that sport provides every day of the year. Keep it real and it will keep on being successful. #sport #politics #geopolitics #business #cricket #tennis #Olympics #Paris2024

Its slow and painful death has long been foretold, but Australia’s thrilling victory over India in the historic fourth Border Gavaskar Trophy Test served as a stark reminder of the vagaries, intricacies and glorious uncertainties that make the game’s longest format so utterly intoxicating. That the stars of the Boxing Day Test were a combination of both its stalwarts and newest inductees made the spectacle that much more gripping, writes Ritam Mitra. MELBOURNE - Australia batter Steve Smith on Friday achieved a historic milestone, joining legends such as Pakistan’s Younis Khan and West Indies’ Brian Lara on the second day of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. Smith scored another hundred in the ongoing series and took his centuries tally to 34 during the first innings of the Boxing Day Test. With his 34th century, Smith came level with Brian Lara and Younis Khan as well as India’s Sunil Gavaskar and Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene, who all struck 34 centuries each in the format. It’s worth noting that Sachin Tendulkar leads the chart for most Test hundreds with a mammoth 51 centuries in the format. Smith is en route to equal two more legends as India’s Rahul Dravid and England’s Joe Root have scored 36 Test hundreds, only two more than the Australian batter. It’s worth noting that Smith also holds the record for the most (11) Test centuries against India. #brainlara #setevsmith #youniskhan #melbourne #india #autralia #innovativepakistan

India vs South Africa final match taught us two fundamentals of life: 1. Don't lose hope even after you did a big blunder. You can always mitigate it by doing right thing as long as you are alive. Life always gives a second chance. Rohit's captaincy was poor when he bowled spinners for 8 overs despite they were conceding 12 runs per over. Due to this Hardik could bowl only 3 overs out of 4. But, then he corrected it by bowling Hardik instead of Jadeja at the last moment. Then Bumra came and turned things in favor of India, rest is history. Likewise we can always mitigate the mistakes we did in the past by doing right things now. 2. 99% work done is not 100%. Nothing is over till it is 100%, no matter what, be on alert till you cross that finishing line. South Africa needed just 26 runs from 27 balls with 6 wickets in hand. Still they succumbed to pressure just because Klassen played one reckless shot of Hardik and get caught. Whatever we do, we should be on alert till we complete our task 100%. #Lifelessons #Sports #T20Iworldcup2024 #Indiancricketteam #BCCI #India

You may know who were the last 5 coaches of India's men cricket team but do you know who was the last coach of India's men football team, who got sacked recently? It's 56 YO Igor Stimac. Stimac, who was part of the Croatia team that made the semifinals of the 1998 World Cup, had taken charge of the Blue Tigers in 2019, after the departure of Stephen Constantine. Under Stimac, India won four major trophies, including two SAFF Championships, one Intercontinental Cup and a Tri-Nations Series. Stimac was at the helm in 53 matches during his tenure, which began with a 3-1 loss to Curacao in 2019. India won 19 of those 53 matches, drawing 14 and losing 20. As per a clause in the contract, the AIFF (All India Football Federation) now might have to pay Stimac nearly USD 360,000 (~Rs 3 crore) as severance package, which is quite a hefty amount for a federation that has struggled for funds in recent years and has reduced its competitions budget this year. India national men's football team is ranked 121 in 2024. India ranked 94 in 1996 (best till date) & 171 in 2014 (worst till date). What it will take for India to be in top-5 someday? Maybe the entire system of football needs to revamped and right talents needs to be scouted with transparency and zero nepotism! No wonder, Indian public loves cricket rather than football. You system is robust, performance will come & money will just be a byproduct. Hope the cricket champions of India of yesteryears, get engage in AIFF and bring the turnaround. I want to see India lifting FIFA world cup in my lifetime. https://lnkd.in/gKuayR-a #IndianFootball #Football

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗧𝟮𝟬 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗽. Victory unfolded in New York, where Jasprit Bumrah dazzled and collectively Rohit Sharma's squad showcased dominance, sweeping away Pakistan with ease. This match was a vivid illustration of the power of team unity and strategic planning. Great individual skills like Bumrah's can make a significant impact, but it takes a cohesive team like Rohit's squad to bring about a sweeping victory. Bumrah, with his striking performance, was one part of the puzzle. However, the bigger picture was the collaborative effort that led India towards victory. This is seen in the ease with which India outperformed Pakistan, reflecting the deep synergy within the team. In job or business, as in cricket, individual brilliance is to be applauded. But, the real route to success lies in harmonized team effort and strategic planning. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. 🙂 ✌ 🏏 #IndiaCricket #T20WorldCup #TeamUnity #StrategicPlanning #JaspritBumrah #RohitSharma #SweepingVictory #CollaborativeEffort #synergy #teamwork #loveforcricket #cricketvictory

Are the Indian Premier League's leading performers not being able to stick around and perform in the longer formats? An analysis of the performances of cricketers under Dravid's era compared to the ones in the present Gautam Gambhir team throws up some questions about the policy of selection. Are there depth issues within the team, or is it because they don't have experienced players like Rahane or Pujara to actually turn things around against teams such as the Kiwis? India last won the BGT under the captaincy of Rahane when they toured Australia in 2020-21. Rahane has played 12 Tests against Australia in Australia and scored 884 runs at an average of 42.09 with two 100s. Pujara's record in Australia is better than that of Rahane. Playing in Australia, he scored 993 runs in 11games played against Australia with three hundreds, best of 193.. Patience plays a great role, is it missing? India can't afford to loose the Away BGT against Australia! Will the prominent players be excluded from the series? #cricket #indiancricketteam #Indiancricket #informative #opinion #sports #letsdiscuss
