In the last part of my PhD, I was lucky enough to visit UC Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET). During the semester, I interviewed several entrepreneurship educators and leaders, trying to uncover the big and magical orchestration process that makes Berkeley the most successful entrepreneurial university in the world. 🏆 In this blog article I share my learnings from SCET's "Innovation Collider", a model that fosters university entrepreneurship through openness and Serendipity-by-Design. While my academic definitions and theories soon surrendered to SCET's more pragmatic reality, I continue wondering - entrepreneurially speaking - whether such outperforming model is needed, feasible and scalable. 💡 This experience at University of California, Berkeley profoundly revolutionized my research, ending up in the PhD thesis I recently defended "Co-creation in the entrepreneurial university: unraveling systemic value tensions". If you are interested in learning more about this or want to share any thoughts, feel free to reach out at gipan@dtu.dk 📩 Check the article here: https://hubs.li/Q02PB_l70 #innovation #entrepreneurship #ecosystems #cocreation #education #research #phd DTU Engineering Technology DTU Entrepreneurship UC Berkeley Innovation & Entrepreneurship UC Berkeley College of Engineering David L. The First Young E3 Final Arrives in Latin America! Thanks to a partnership between universities and government entities in Argentina, the Young E3 competition reaches its grand finale in Latin America. The finalist teams will compete for cash prizes awarded to the top three projects in each category: Under 20 and Under 25. Throughout various stages, young entrepreneurs have worked intensively on their projects through both in-person and virtual activities. The process began with idea generation and validation, followed by business model creation, prototyping, and pitch rehearsals, culminating in the presentation of their proposals. From over 200 projects that started in the competition, 30 have reached the semifinal stage and will participate in an intensive Bootcamp, where the teams that will present their ideas at the Idea Fair will be selected. From there, the top 15 teams from the bootcamp will be chosen to deliver a three-minute pitch before a panel of judges, including representatives from participating universities, government education officials, renowned personalities from the entrepreneurial ecosystem and Alejandro Malgor of Young E3. The panel will then select the three winning teams in each category. #Competition #Entrepreneurs #University #Ideas #Creation #Innovation

We are thrilled that Copenhagen Business School has been ranked #6 of European Universities for founders by PitchBook! https://lnkd.in/eDAGz2FU We’re also in good company with our good colleagues at DTU - Technical University of Denmark DTU Skylab and Aalborg University strongly representing Denmark on the list! While this data measures capital raised, we at Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship also know there are many other great outcomes for CBS entrepreneurs and innovators that don’t include the VC route. Universities are a very important actor in the development of the future business landscape. Entrepreneurial aptitude is often first realised in the classroom, is facilitated by passionate educators, and supported by programmes and services within university incubators to transform a student with an idea into a responsible business leader. Big kudos goes to our academic community, the team at CSE and our ecosystem partners who help support this important journey. PitchBook’s annual university rankings compare schools by tallying up the number of alumni entrepreneurs who have raised venture capital in the last decade. The rankings are powered by PitchBook data and are based on an analysis of nearly 167,000 VC-backed founders.
