Focus - BAC TO BAC Process At #SULO, recycling rubbish #bins is a concrete action with our BAC TO BAC service. We transform out-of-use bins into new, ready-to-use refuse bins. Sulo staff are on hand to give your bins a second life. Thanks to our 30 strategically-located Service Points, we're always close at hand to meet your needs. The recycling process is simple: your old bins are disinfected, then ground into fine flakes. The flakes are then used as a raw material to make new bin liners. We invite all local authorities to join this initiative. By sending us your damaged bins, you are contributing directly to a virtuous #recycling cycle. All the while ensuring that your #waste is managed in an #eco-responsible manner. 🎯 Together, we can make recycling a reality.

We have some quick smashing information to share on this day! Aluminum cans are the second most recycled material after steel in the United States. Not only is aluminum 100% recyclable, but it also uses 95% less energy to recycle an old can into a new one. However, we still throw out more than 1 million tons of aluminum each year. Unlike some recyclables, aluminum can be recycled over and over. #recycling #recycle #upcycling #sustainability #zerowaste #ecofriendly #environment #reuse #cornell #cornelluniversity #ithaca #ithacany

Update from the Town of Erie 🍂 "Fall 2024 Leaf & Pumpkin Composting Update! Heads up, Erie residents: There will not be a designated leaf and pumpkin composting event this year. However, you can still recycle your leaves, yard waste, and pumpkins year-round for free at the Erie Recycling Center! Important Reminder: Please remove all leaves, pumpkins, and yard waste from bags before placing them in the compost bins. Bags—even paper ones—should not go into the composting bins. Be sure to take your bags with you after emptying their contents. And remember—never rake leaves into the gutter or street. It's hazardous for our stormwater system. Instead, collect them, jump on them for some fall fun, or reuse them as Halloween props before bringing them to the Recycling Center. Learn more about year-round composting on the Town of Erie Recycling Center webpage."

Weekly dumping of 120kg of woodash residues into this XXL recycling bin, from our F&B partners make no mistake the biowaste collection process is nothing simple unlike other recycled waste: 1. The kitchen crew after grilling have to cool the burning hot spent woodash coals (500°C) and place inside a metal tray to let it to cool overnight. *Fyi (if not cooled this coals will melt the rubbish bins like butter and start a fire) 🔥 2. Once it has been cooled then the woodash waste will be transferred into our metal barrels and filled up ready for us to collect. 3. During the collection we transfer the biowaste using a sturdy pp bag with sealed lid and wear a mask (N95/ K95) and gloves when handling the woodash waste can be hazardous and messy when inhale the PM 2.5 dust into our system. 4. After we transport the biowaste back to our recycling rooftop worksite, it is then dumped into our XXL Woodash recycling bin storage (1,100L) as shown in this video ready for the processing into our byproducts: biochar and woodash materials to bring circular value for the potential markets ♻️ #biowaste #wastetoresource #recycling #sggreenplan #zerowaste #gmaximusimpact #naturebasedsolutions #climatetech #biomaterials #circulareconomy

Many recycling companies and circular economy operators are keen to understand better (even secure volumes) the waste supply chain. The Harbak team can provide details on material flows, volumes, gate (service) rates which are all important market research components. However, the real issue is current contracts and existing commercial arrangements. We get approached regularly with requests like “We could take all of Council’s municipal waste”. We then ask “Do you understand the existing commercial arrangement?”. Often there is silence. If there is an existing arrangement between a Council and another operator, then “available” material could be very small even zero. If this type of market research is of interest to you, please send me a note or call me on 0431 222 327 #circulareconomy #waste #recycling #resourcerecovery #plasticwaste #foodwaste #compost #greenwaste #environment #sustainabilty #marketresearch #commercial #tyrerecycling
