When I decided to run 29 marathons in a year, I couldn’t even run a mile. I was overweight, struggling with my mental health, and chasing a goal that felt impossible. Looking back, I was naive. I didn’t know the pain I’d face—the blisters, the exhaustion, the moments my body felt like it might break. And honestly? I wonder if I would’ve started had I known. But here’s the thing: you don’t have to know everything. You just have to begin. Step by step, I learned. I asked strangers to help pop blisters (yes, really), and turned every rejection from sponsors and journalists into fuel to send out 25 more pitches a day. Every failure taught me to push harder, adapt, and grow. This year, I’m chasing new “impossible” dreams: crawling a marathon in February, co-directing my first film, and indulging in at least 30 romantasy books (because balance is key!). What about you? What’s the big, crazy, audacious goal you’ll take on in 2025? Let’s cheer each other on. Start where you are. Be naive enough to begin. Be brave enough to finish. #NewYearNewYou #ChaseTheImpossible #2025Goals #MarathonMindset #JustStart #DreamBig #Inspiration #StepByStep #CommunitySupport #NaiveButBrave

Since then, he has run many races, including the Edinburgh Marathon this year. Next year——> ❓❓❓#staytuned 🔥🔥💯 Oh yes!!! You don’t need 75 hard. You need 365 consistent. It’s the New Year, and I see so many people setting unrealistic goals for themselves … Instead of chasing short-term challenges like 75 hard, focus on building habits that last all year long. Consistency always wins over extremes. This morning, I crushed 15 miles, 6 weeks out from my second marathon, and feeling unstoppable! Living this lifestyle is about showing up every day, not just for 75 days, but for the entire year. Your life changes when you stop thinking short term and commit to being consistent in everything you do. #hybridathlete #marathon #fitnessmotivation #gymlifestyle #fitnessaddict

𝟐𝟏𝐤𝐦? 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭? 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐈 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝐤𝐦, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟-𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧? When I set my goal to run a half-marathon for the 1st time, I could barely manage 1km. A side stitch would hit before I even reached 1km, and my fingertips would turn cold due to poor circulation. I often had to stop and walk. With that “performance”, I committed to running/walking 5km twice a week for four weeks. A week before the half-marathon, I could run 2km before needing to walk. Yet, I completed the half-marathon - not with flying colours, but finishing 21km was an incredible achievement for someone who could barely run 2km a few weeks before. 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟-𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐞 -𝟗𝟗% 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝. ✅ Have unwavering faith and determination. Before the run, remind yourself, “No matter what happens, I will cross that finish line.” ✅ Any progress is good progress. When you can’t run anymore, walk. You are still moving toward the finish line. ✅ Celebrate every success, big or small. Each time you pass a 5KM, 6KM, 7KM…marker, silently shout to yourself, “Another KM down - well done!” ✅ Run at your own pace. Don’t burn out. You will see others passing, and that’s ok. The only way you won’t finish is if you push beyond your limits and need medical help. Go steady, and you will reach your goal. What’s your strategy to achieve a challenging goal? Share your tips in the comments—let’s inspire each other! #GoalSetting #MindOverMatter #HalfMarathonJourney #PersistencePaysOff #MentalStrength #RunYourOwnRace #CelebrateSmallWins #OvercomingObstacles #mindtransformation

Inspired by a 70-year old! #WhatIsYourExcuse #LifeLessons from ... a Comrade! Two weeks ago, during one of my runs, I had the honour of crossing paths with a remarkable individual - a 70-year-old man who has completed an astounding 19 Comrades marathons! Yes, 19! For those unfamiliar, the Comrades is the world's largest & oldest ultra-marathon, spanning a daunting 90 kilometers. And guess what? This year, in 2024, he's gearing up for his 20th! As I jogged alongside this living legend for a few kilometers, I couldn't help but absorb some invaluable life lessons: 1. Discipline: Execute you plans diligently for success. 2. Healthy Lifestyle: Prioritize your health, it is your ultimate wealth. 3 .Consistency: Achieve goals through unwavering habits. 4. Sharing Knowledge: Teach and inspire others. He coaches others and some of his children run. 5. Take Action! Overcome excuses and start moving ... literally for exercise; and for anything else in life. No excuse! Just action. So, as we navigate our own journeys, let's take a moment to reflect on this extraordinary individual and ask ourselves: What is our excuse? #WhatIsYourExcuse

You’ve probably noticed the wave of “My First Chicago Marathon...” posts taking over your feed lately. A mix of humble bragging and self-empowerment, these posts are filled with inspiring tales of sore feet and personal bests – because what better way to flex than with 26.2 miles of glory? But here’s the thing: while marathons are great, they’re not the only “marathons” we run in life. And some of the hardest, most gut-wrenching milestones? Yeah, you won’t see them wrapped up in a snappy LinkedIn post with hashtags like hashtag #NeverGiveUp or hashtag #HustleHarder... Life's Real "Marathons" Let's take a moment to reflect on those "races" that don’t get the limelight: 1. Getting Out of Bed During Depression No months of training, no cheering crowds. Just you, battling the weight of depression. "Today, I fought off my anxiety long enough to get up and shower. My pace was slow, but I showed up." Now that deserves applause. 2. Crossing the Finish Line After a Divorce A marathon with no medals, just emotional highs and lows. "After months of self-doubt, I’ve officially crossed the finish line of my marriage. No medal, just self-growth." 3. Grieving a Loved One – The Ultimate Ultra-Marathon No finish line, no victory. Just learning to keep going, one step at a time. "Last year, I lost someone I loved. This year, I’m learning to breathe again, one day at a time." The Real Medals We Should Celebrate Instead of glorifying pavement-pounding, what about celebrating the quiet victories? #FirstDayWithoutSelf-Doubt #FinallyOverMyEx #WakingUpSmiling #FacingChallenges These are the milestones that shape us—personal, real, and raw. So, next time you see another "My first marathon" post, remember: we’re all running races, but not all of them come with a finish line photo. Some of us are surviving and getting our minds stronger (also running a bit)—and that’s worth celebrating too.
