Medical coding converts medical operations, diagnoses, and treatments into alphanumeric codes. Healthcare practitioners use these codes to connect with insurance companies and government agencies to get paid for their services. 2. Medical billing and coding rely on understanding medical terminology and the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, both key components of the healthcare sector. 3. The healthcare industry is a complex and rapidly evolving field, and medical coders and billers need to understand the industry's various stakeholders and players. 4. Medical terminology refers to the language doctors, and healthcare workers use to define a patient's condition precisely. 5. A reliable and accurate medical coding system is crucial for documenting, billing, and tracking medical operations, treatments, and ailments. ICD, CPT, and HCPCS are all examples of these systems, each with specific functions within the healthcare system. 6.
