India's Renewable Energy Capacity Hits New Milestone.Renewable energy now constitutes more than 46.3% of total capacity India has reached a significant milestone in its renewable energy journey, with the country's total renewable energy capacity crossing the 200 GW (gigawatt).This remarkable growth aligns with the country's ambitious renewable energy target of achieving 500 GW from non-fossil sources by 2030.

In India, while renewable energy sources make up 33% of the total power generation capacity, they currently contribute only 22% of the energy produced. To maximize the potential of renewable energy, significant investments in energy storage are needed. Sodium-ion batteries could be a game-changer, offering affordable and locally manufactured storage solutions for both grid-scale and behind-the-meter applications. This advancement has the potential to boost the efficiency of renewable energy use and strengthen energy security.
